I would really like to know how a product that is still on the shelves is statisically known to kill a number of people every year through lung cancer or other causes. This product even kills people who DONT use it. yet somehow its still legal...

For example: say a child toy or crib has a defect, that causes a choking HAZARD (meaning it COULD happen) or POSSIBLE threat to small infints and children. that product is instantly taken off the market. and recalled. even though there are no statistically proven facts that any kids died from the defect in the past year(s).

To make matters worse, these companies PURPOSLY add addictive chemicals and substances into thier products, to maintain a steady sales market. and target young consumers for thier main profit market.

How is a company allowed to do this? i dont understand how a company can sell products that KILL thier consumers. for so many years, and continue to do so...

curious to see what yall say..

How are cars legal? They are products that kill more people a year than cigarettes.

How is alcohol legal?

How are double pounder with cheese hamburgers legal?

I do agree that the companies shouldn’t be putting addictive chemicals in their products and should be severely punished for their crimes and it should be STOPPED, but smoking tobacco should not be illegal. It is up to the individual whether or not he wants to use the product, as long as they are informed of the risks involved.

and as far as cars killing more people then cigs, no, they dont

second hand smoke alone kills more people then guns, suicide, and aids combined every year.

also cars are not a product that a user consumes or ingestes into thier body to cause them harm, instead there are accidents. hence the phrase shit happens.

as far as fast food (i think thats what your saying) there are limits and requirements that these companies have to meet to keep their food healthy enough to consume a certian amount pertaining to daily values.

id like some replies or answers that dont involve questions as answers, i see your point...everything is unhealthy, but on the same note we are all dying. we have been since we were concieved. that doesnt justify the right for a company to sell products that benefit their consumers in nothing but death. also remember that people who dont use them and are exposed to second hand smoke also die.

That may be true, but alcohol is also highly addictive and so are many other over the counter medicines.

I agree on this part- I think the chemicals in the cigarettes that are purposely put there for the sole reason of addiction be illegal. But, the use of tobacco should NOT be illegal. It is something that humans have been doing for thousands of years.

Actually, our medical system is the leading cause of death, smoking is above car accidents (my mistake but I was trying to make a point) and obesity is right behind smoking (fast food and America’s unhealthy foods to blame?).

Umm, yes all consumers consume and ingests the fumes of the fuel produced by cars. Pollution alone is a huge killer, but unfortunately it is very hard to determine how many deaths per year it causes. Many scientists believe pollution kills more than any thing else.

Same with the tobacco companies but the simple fact is fast food is very bad for you and even addictive. (Maybe not physically addictive but definitely mentally such as McDonalds entire philosophy of getting children into their restaurants as early as possible and as often as possible).

I know you don't like the questions, but don't you also find it interesting that booze, smokes, & drugs are the only objects of consumption which don't require disclosure of its contents (i.e. 'nutritional' info)?

humans have also been smoking pot for thousands of years as well yet a naturally grown plant is illegal. my main point is the shit they put in cigs to make them addictive, shit should not be legal

that is NOT a fact............a second hand smoker is breathing the smoke yes,but with that big ol' wiff of smoke he's also sucking in oxygen.a "smoker" aint getting much oxygen if any.its filterd yes,but he's getting more poison then the second hander........that second hand smoke shit is blown up too big..........

alcohal is far more worse then tobaccy.some are killing there liver.some are beating their wives.some are killing them selves in automobiles,some are killing others in automobiles.50 years ago,yes,people were ignorant and didnt know the risks of smoking,neither did science.in this day of age,you know what the possibilties are when takin that first drag,its on you.thats our own stupidity.peoples choice.obecity is the biggest problem in america.along with no excersice.............think about it,theres "new" crack heads everyday.is that the governments fault for not fighting the was on drugs (not that they want to fight it) hard enough? fuck no,they know the risk and they still want to do it.i dont see that anymore dangerous then fatty foods and no excersice,cars,alcohal,or buster ass poloticians..............

These days, how can they tell whose lung cancer was caused by cigarette smoke, and whose by air pollution?

Regardless, I think the shit in cigs should be illegal. Chemicals in cigarettes, if consumed by themselves in the proper dosage, are fatal as fuck. I'm glad I quit smoking...5 weeks strong with no cravings and no substitutes (i.e gum, patch, etc..).

i agree with that.the addictive additives should be illegal. theres no scientific method of proving your lung cancer is from smokingso Sydal,your right on that first one.i believe in 50 years,there gonna realize almost everything out there is gonna be cancerous.theres mothafuckas that have smoked all their life and died of natural causes,then theres mothafcukas who never smoked that died of lung cancer or emphyzima (sp?).........

actually it IS a FACT i can find the source and link as soon as i get it again. and the fact that u think its blown up is your own opinion. fact of the matter is second hand smoke kills people period. you cant say it dont.

back 40-50 years ago people didnt think shit of it obviously but it is a major deal. i see it as almost infringing on people rights, u wanna smoke and kill urself...cool....its a free country u can do what u want with your body, however u cant take other ppl out with you, thats crossing the line between a habit and second hand lung cancer

yes,please find the sources.FACTUAL sources.not just the media or a handfull of scientists that believe this but have no actual data to back this up..........SHOW ME THE FACTS SINCE YOU'VE SEEN THEM,you must be the only person to see these FACTS.............

if i smoke a chop in front of you,im gonna get high.are you gonna get higher than me? are you gonna have more THC in your system then mine? for the sake of argument,i'll use a chop with a filter.its filtering out some shit,but im still getting almost no oxygen if any.you on the other hand,the second hand smoker is getting the fumes "diluted"..........
