Hot August nights aint been the same since the 90's....
i feel hella old saying that shit but its true and yall kids that was in ya underoos bacc then missed out......ever since that year (think it was 98 or maybe 97????)when foos started rioting and getting out of control its been nuttin but cops everywhere.....

I'm not 100% sure if it was that same year or not, but I know a bunch of homeboys from Salinas were out there around that time for Hot August Nights and ended up startin or being envolved in a big ass riot. After I heard about that, I pretty much lost interest in ever going out there for the event.
I aint tryin to drive 4-5 hours, spend hella cash on rooms, gas, food, drugs, etc.....just to get there and deal wit a bunch of foolz lookin to start shit. Shit, I can do that here in Salinas for free!

you have more chance of gettin in some shit with the police now....i was there the year of the riot and me n the homies from my hood had just barely left before it got all crazy....we already knew it was gonna happen...it was all good at 1st....hella bitches was gettin naked n shit..... but too many folks was gettin drunk and too many cats was bangin they hoods and setts n shit.....so we got out before it got outta hand.....i went the next year and it was shut the fucc down in comparison...there was about 10 cops on every damn corner and in every kinda undercover car you can think of....seen 4 big ass pigs all up in a gremlin n shit trying to be slicc....lol.....
I think ya'll might be talking about I think 99...its when Awol was at its prime I remember that cos they van and the outlaws was out there and police and casinos stop letting black people inside casinos. Cos niggaz was out side going dumb...then cats got dumber and start flipping cars over. I think 40 and B-lee performed that year. Its cool especially if u got something to promote cos u get hella bay north and central calif people to get at.

im pretty sure it was 98 now i think about it....i moved to arizona end of 99 and i had just gone to HOT AUGUST NIGHTS for the last time that same summer before i moved and thats when it was all shut down as a result of the year before.....
matter fact it was 98 cuz it was 1st time i went to Reno as an adult (18) and i can remember that clearly.....
