Worlds Greatest Dad was original as fuck, also one of the best movies I've ever seen..If thats considered Hollywood..

Besides that I agree Hollywood needs to hang it up, everything is being watered down.

Some of the shit you list is actually intellectual property worth continuing.

The over generalization that all sequels are bad is limited to how many are actually worth waiting for a sequel to continue telling stories.

Ghostbusters 3, Zombieland 2, Kick Ass 2
Will likely never happen.

Ghostbusters 3 and Zombieland 2 are in development hell, and Kick Ass 2 is a pipe dream since it failed miserably at the box office.

28 Months Later, Kill Bill 3, Sin City 2, Sherlock Holmes 2, Star Trek 2,
Would all continue intellectual properties that were very good.

Wouldn't see these:
Scream 4, Cars 2, Die Hard 5, Indiana Jones 5, Kung Fu Panda 2, Underworld 4, Final Destination 5, Expendables 2, 28 Months Later, I Am Legend 2, Mission Impossible 4, Sherlock Holmes 2, XXX 3, Jeepers Creepers 3, Twilight 4 & 5, Ice Age 4, National Treasure 3, Scary Movie 5, Halloween 3,Bad Boys 3, Men In Black 3, Avatar 2 & 3, Terminator 5, Wrong Turn 4, Resident Evil 5, Paranormal Activity 3, Madagascar 3, Lethal Weapon 5, Jumper 2, Independence Day 2, Independence Day 3, Wanted 2, Karate Kid 2, Wolverine 2,...

Would see these:
Ghostbusters 3, Zombieland 2, Kick Ass 2, Kill Bill 3, Sin City 2(this isn’t going to get made), Hangover 2, Iron Man 3

Would consider seeing these:
Star Trek 2, Pirates Of The 4, Beverly Hills Cop 4, Green Lantern 2 (depends on how the first is, but the trailer looks ok)

The question is: How many will I actually pay to see? Odds are against more than 3.

while, id like to see a lot of these sequels like Kill Bill 3, Underworld 4, Bad Boys 3, Sin City 2, Zombieland 2, and Hangover 2, i would still like to see some original films.

hollywood didnt take notes when Inception came out. even other big budget films like The Town or The Social Network, they were great and made a lot of money, they continue to put out more remakes and sequels than originals

I noticed that, too. I had a hard time not doing the same, though, when I separated the list out like I did.

There's a whole lot of assuming happening.

Hollywood's game now is remakes and sequels because we, the consumers of the entertainment industry, are willing to pay for and are in love with sequels and remakes.

We control the flow and transport of what is being made by simply showing up and purchasing tickets, and probably on a more subversive level, downloading these films.
