When you're in 2 *DIFFERENT* foreign language classes at the SAME TIME, its kinda hard to memorize 150-200 new vocabulary words (along with 4-6+ forms for each) a week, and get an A+ on every test......you should try it sometime. Vale, ingens caudex. "Salve" matrem vocas.....

Doofy - Man, just stop while things are quarterway good for you. You like challenges? Here's a challenge: Stop posting. You say we have to wait until you release your CD for you to stop ranting about how your GPA and your achievements. I wanna see you push your joint in the 4th quarter of 2003 and see how it goes. But I guess in the meantime, you'll be on here doing your typing thing. Don't get me wrong, I have no ill wishes for you and I hope for everyone as well as you the best, but some people have to learn the hard way because they do not listen to people who have been doing this for a while. The way you carry yourself on this board, we only see the arrogance. You get 3.5GPA in college? Congratulations, I commend you on that. You're doing your music thing as well? Good stuff. You're in the music industry, the independent game. All that stuff you know about Latin/foreign languages, geography, that 3.5GPA, and all that good stuff you got in that 10% of yours? They only mean half of shit. This business is all about the grind.
And I'm way real, homey. Way real. I've been doing this for a while on the other side of the 49th parallel. I do not "ass-kiss"; I gives respect. I respect the music, I respect the industry, I respect the people participating in it and those that have BEEN participating for a bit. You have yet to get your hands stained in this business. I suggest you stay on the sidelines and just watch and learn quietly. Mr. D-Sane et al on the Siccness have been doing it for a minute, and we all understand the struggle. I understand that you're a man of supposed great knowledge, so you should know that opening a dragonmouth at your end of the bridge can set the bridge on fire.

Man..that right there is about the only part i disagree with in your whole post...the only problem is, its the BIGGEST thing.
For every 3 articles you've read on distribution, points, publishing, agents, etc etc, ive probably read at least 2; i do my research as well. The only difference is, nearly every CEO ive observed these days is trying to run their INDEPENDENT labels like they're a MAJOR label, and as you can see by the lack of releases in the past few months (YES, YES, i see you neema! ill holla, gimme some time, heheheh...), it IS NOT WORKING.......How can one expect people to pass out flyers for their label, and here they can't even get their album out on time, or even within 2,3,5 MONTHS of the original date? (I honestly dont mean this next part to anyone in particular, mind you!) What can a CEO/Industry Head who's 6 months behind on a release gonna tell me about the "industry" and about what *I* do or don't know???
And you really cant give someone with a fully-functional mind (like myself) a B.S. excuse like "Indies don't/shouldn't release albums in the 4th quarter" because majors release albums YEAR ROUND, and it doesnt stop Independents then! If ANYTHING, it should be ADDED MOTIVATION to get your album on shelves in time for the holidays...and if it just so happens that most stores won't put your album on shelves DURING the holidays, then cool....GET IT DONE BEFORE-HAND!
Nemo's probably dont give a fuck about Majors flooding the market...ARS either.........ok, ok, so i dont know many local music stores, but that aint the point......the point is that, right now, as i've witnessed from NUMEROUS months worth of posts, theres PLENTY of Demand, and Little to no Supply!!
If it takes a naive smartass ruining/stalling his own personal entertainment hopes/plans to light a fire under some asses--so be it! But im tryin to lay the groundwork for a NW record store in my area (which just so happens to be the ENTIRE west coast of washington, basically)....and this drought IS NOT helping.....

I just got done having my entire life flipped upside down due to a break-up with my girlfriend of almost 6 years. I had to move out of my house where I had my studio set-up hella cool. I had to move my studio 3 times in the last 3 months. And I've gone 2 months now without having my studio AT ALL. Not to mention the fact that I've been working on HELLA other projects besides SLR releases.
When your fuckin' stupid punk-ass even puts out 1 REAL CD with REAL packaging.......a REAL barcode and put it in REAL stores....THEN you can try to tell me something about putting shit out. Until then........P.Y.P......Play Your Position.....and SHUT THE FUCK UP......and if you refuse to shut the fuck up......I WILL shut you the fuck up permanently. Comprende?

Stop making assumptions on things you really don't know about. You're jumping to conclusions. I see the train of thought you're on, but since you really don't know the real answer and are just assuming a bunch of shit, ask a person up here who KNOWS. Damn ive been gone for a minuit tryin to put in some work with my fam... I just wanted to say that C-infamous really discussed and reached a lot of things on my mind lately. And i respect those thoughts... Its simmular to what i already tried to tell ("DOOFY") i just got fed up and frustrated tryin to ignore his talks about things he hasnt done to people doin it, also the way he presents himself is almost like an opposing sideshow for attention i believe he suffers from (ADD)...It released a lot of stress to come home and read this thread.. Beacuse at times i get heated at peoples that get on this thread and talk out their ass... ive watched a few others like brotherman and c-ron run through the same playground and got their panties twisted... I have a half ass fealin their somehow related.
