and its taken that much to get a lot of Crips/Bloods Sur/Norte gangstas into prison....RICO cases have been brought against these gangs jus like the Cosa Nostra......jus cuz a lotta lil kids runnin around claimin gangs gettin snatched up for stupid lil shit doesnt mean these gangs arent also well run organizations.....Suge Knight is on the level of the Mafia.....hes got police on the payroll....one of em being the murderer of Biggie....theres all sorts of evidence pointing to this and no ones been convicted.....the case has been dropped and left unsloved....so i guess Deathrow can call themselves mafiosos.......
THe kids running around banging are simply just tools of the real OGs. They think that 'puttin in work' brings them status, but it only shows how low they are in the heirarchy.

This system was made popular by the Five Points Gang in New York in the 1930s. The Sicilian Mafia would get these kids all excited about going around and beating up people and killing people, they didn't know that they were simply just tools of the Sicilian Mafia, making hits for free.

I think of this when I see people claimin shit like Norte and all they gotta say about it is '$crap Killa!", haha they have made it so that most younguns now think that it is all about banging. Poor kids dont understand that banging was made up as a way for the younguns to do all the dirty work for the OGs who sit back and are all about money.

And its funny how some gangs have started just for the purpose of 'banging' when no one is telling them what to do... which is pretty fucking stupid and pointless, and totally misses the entire purpose.

For real. Anytime somebody starts actin all funny style because of the way I dress or talk, I just tell em to eat a dick. I'm being me, and if that resembles another culture, so be it, that's how I grew up. There's a HUGE difference though, that's NEVER taken into consideration. Anybody ANYWHERE can grow up with Hip Hop culture, grow up around people who dress like that, talk like that, act like that, etc. etc. Not a whole lot of people around the world can say they grew up around the Mafia (knowingly), so they just picked up on what the Mafiosi do.

I've studied it since I was little. Being an Italian, I've always been interested in all aspects of the culture, bad or good. With that interest, I've ALWAYS been fascinated by the Mafia, even though the majority of them are Sicilian, there's still northern Italians scattered throughout. The fact that my people came to this country for better lives, and got dogged out by the government and other Americans...especially Irish Americans, and they STILL rose above it, building multi-million dollar businesses (legal and not), is simply off the hook. Not a lot of people can say that about their ancestors. So, I've always read about it, always watched movies/documentaries, followed John Gotti, learned about the Bonanno family since they were local at one point, and I'm pretty sure one of the daughters was my elementary school principal...lol.

So yea, in a way I guess you can say I'm familiar with it.

ya Im the same way, some of my family were involved so I started learning more and more and it gets more and more fascinating. My grandpa was born and raised on Taylor Street (Chicago) and grew up with the og members of the 54 gang, but never got involved.

You should check out THE OUTFIT: The Role of Chicago's Underworld in the Shaping of Modern America
by Gus Russo. Best Mafia book Ive ever read, it has everything about the history of the Outfit.

http://www.lukeman.com/Titles/Outfit.htm

Another one to check out is Tony Accardo: The Genuine Godfather by William Roemer (The FBI Agent) It gives you insight on, IMO, the greatest mobster ever to live.

Basically, it all comes down to pure IGNORANCE. These Black rappers that imitate Italian mafia figures obviously did not do their research before hand because if they did they would have found out that these folks didn't give a fuck about Blacks or our culture. On another note, the same ignorance has Blacks walking around sportin clothes by Von Dutch. It's a fact that the man was a known racist yet mufuckas are playin themselves by endorsing his gear! If you wanna truly keep it real then Black rapper's need to idolize their own and leave the mafia charactors on the big screen. I don't give a fuck how much my life may mirror the "other man", I only rep for my people at the end of the day. How the fuck you gonna name yourself after a mafia figure and be Black? Fools don't even realize how stupid that truely is.
