I got dragged to the movie didnt think it was gunna be all that great but holy shit did I get proved wrong ha ha, one of the best movies I have seen in awhile, and the joker MADE the movie imo.
I fucking loved this movie. Im not generally a fan of the "comic" movies, hell i didnt necessarily enjoy Batman Begins or w/e. But the embodiment of wickedness that man portrayed is incredible. I myself thought before going in, that the hype aroound his acting job was exactly that (and unfortunantly so) hype. I'll tell you though, this movie has rocketed up in my top 5 or so of favorite movies. If you havent seen it, it is so worth seeing. Especially in theaters.
I really don't think so...but like I said, it's completely opinion. I haven't seen the movie yet, but after seeing a rating blow out like that, I'll definitely have it on my to-do list once I have the money.
They said something about him possibly winning an oscar for the role, But the fact of him bein dead and that it was a comic book movie hurts his chances.

IT was a great movie but u cant compare the two jokers. it is acompletely different time now. batman 20 years ago was shocking the audience like this one is now. i mean as time goes on, movies get more shocking and gory yada yada yada there werent movies like Saw back then, just think in another twenty years if they did batman, the joker would be completely different......
Heath's performance was a lot better than Jack's...and that's really saying something. We CAN compare that. I'm pretty sure that's what people mean whey they say This Joker > That Joker.
Sure, their completely different...but what Heath did with the character was crazy. The way he'd improvise throughout the entire movie was insane. Movie was pretty good...nothing spectacular...but, Heath's performance is what REALLY makes the movie.
That shit where he started clapping for no apparent reason, I know for one...because it freaked one of the actors out. Read that shit in some magazine at the Doctor's Office. That shit towards the end where he blows up the hospital...and had trouble pressing the button was also mentioned.
He didn't just do shit he wasn't supposed to do. Lol
He was just took the freedom he was given as an actor and did some bugged-out shit in each of his scenes.

You sure it was the clapping that scared the actor or this:
It's Sir Michael Caine's opinion that Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson's Joker from Batman (1989): "Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath's gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he's like a really scary psychopath. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture." Caine bases this belief on a scene where the Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne's penthouse. He'd never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed he gave Caine such a fright he forgot his lines.
