Ravage, I went there and I still go there. The first time I went I got my degree in Computer Tech. Now I'm going because I decided to get the business side of it down, too. So I'm double majoring in business administration.

I think its a very good school. I go from 8:00 - 2:00 monday through friday. Classes are only fifty minutes long so they don't get boring. If I was to compare it to anything it would be high school.

If you've tried a community college and don't like it. You would probably enjoy this alot more. The teachers are good and they actually care about you and the progress that your making. Its on a quarter system so you're only in one set of classes for three months then you get a month break and when you come back its all new classes. I like this system because semesters are way too long. The only way to fail at heald is basically not showing up or not doing your work. But if you do show up and do your work its hella easy to fly through it with all A's.

I take it you would come to the one here in Salinas if you go. alot of homies that I kick it with there come from santa cruz and watsonville so you could get a car-pool easy. And the GIRLS god-damn

@DBoss - If you were gonna pay 18 grand to go to college why the fuck wouldn't you finish it ALL THE WAY.

I went in to Heald making like $8.50 ph as a Data Entry Clerk. Two months after graduation I was making $17.85 ph. A year later $20 ph, and 6 months after that $23.50 ph. Hell, and I wasn't even trying that hard. Now I'm about to sign up at Sac State to get my UNIX cert. That should bump me up to $35 ph or so in about 6 months.

Thanks Anthony N' DEEP THOUGHT, I'm made up my mind to attend. Seems like the thing to do since I just got laid off and am siting @ home doing nothing living off my un-employment checks. Ive been looking for a job but cant find one for shit. I'll B' damed if I work @ a fast food joint, I just cant C' myself doing that.

Anthony - the only thing is that I now live in a shit hole town name Los Banos so I'll probly attend Heald @ the Stockton location. I'm thinking mayB' I should go to Salinas tho, I think its the same distance from where I stay, and I wanna get a job out in the Santa Cruz Area, so I can lookaround after class.

Uhh because you get a degree. And with a degree you can get a higher paying job. To major business' and corporations it doesn't matter what you SAY you know. Its what your resume says, and the letter's you can put after your name. You could be a hundred times better than me at computers but if we both turned in applications at the same time and they looked at mine and saw that I had associate degrees in computer tech and business' admin. and that I was certified with a 3.5 gpa and higher the whole way through. and then they looked at yours and see that you have a high school education and in the little box where it says "do you have any special skills for the job?" you put that you know word, excel, access, etc. but you have no degree. Who do you think they are gonna pick?

the time you spend sitting in class will end up making you AT LEAST $75,000 more during your life than the average american who didn't go to college. and If you knew it all already you should have just kicked back and breezed through that shit. I wish I knew it all electronics algebra is a bitch.

@Ravage I think driving to stockton everyday would be a bad idea. Traffic is way worse between los banos and stockton then los banos and Salinas. Its still a long drive either way. I think Salinas would be a better choice though . plus you already know someone who goes there.

Thats good I'm glad you have it that way however, If you had a degree you could have a higher paying job, you could probably get paid more for the job you have right now. Thats really all there is to it. I'm not trying to say what you did or do is wrong,

but homeboy might not know anything about the field in which he wants to go into so therefore his time in school would be well spent and it would get him a foot in the door.

Before I graduated the first time I had a nice car and an apartment. But I worked at a grocery store. That was a good paying job but it wasn't a career. I couldn't see myself doing that my whole life. When I graduated I got a job in milpitas as a comp. tech. making 18.25 an hour with 40 hours per week gauranteed even if I didn't show up. I've bought three cars and a house in the last three years. I think I made a good decision by getting a college education. Because I can honestly tell you that when I first got out of CYA, and the first year and a half after that, I could have never gotten the job I have now they would have looked at me and laughed.
