I haven't read them yet but everyone tells me if you read the first book it wont spoil season 2, it will basically just cover season 1 (plus a ton more you'll learn).

Book one won't spoil anything. It'll just clarify or change your perspective on season one of the show. The problem is that when you finish the first book, you'll just want more and the books are available.

the second book is just as hard to put down as the first one. i hope the second season is as great as the first. the imp tyrion is straight pimping. at his finest he certainly casts a huge shadow through out the second book.

5 episodes in on the blu ray right now. Reading the books will definitely spoil the show (like if you know what's about to happen with Ned Stark) but the books are so much better it's worth it. I'll prob be pushing 40 by the time the series is done..

yep but there have been other series that i have read where that wasnt the case. the second book was slow and then third book business picked back up. i havent been able to get back into the book because i have moving but maybe this weekend i will finish the second book. my hope was to get the second book read before the second series comes out.

Was hella late on this but i felt i wasn't puttin my HBO to use only watchin Boardwalk Empire. So i recorded the 1st season and just wrapped up the last episode! Dragons! WTF! Lookin forward to seeing how season 2 turns out!
