Those with Virus & Spyware Problems.
1. Download & Install Avast! Home Edition, it's free & the best out there. Say yes to the startup scan and let it do the startup scan. When you restart windows, do the 'Thorough Scan'. Avast! Monitors all your internet browsing, so it stops viruses before they come in, and at the same time its looking for malware by scanning your computer in the background.

You have to register it after 45 days, meaning give your email, etc.
2. Download Windows Defender. Another free application, mainly for your spyware. I believe you need the service pack 2 to download it.

3. Download Spyware Blaster. Update it regularly, as it blocks you from accessing websites that are known to fuck with your computer.

4. Download McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox & Internet Explorer
It's a little extension that tells you if you are on a bad site and tells you which downloads have been tested, which have spyware/malware. It also has user reviews so people can give the opinion about the site. It works when you do searches as well, telling you what search results are bad and which are good.

You shouldn't need much more than that. I haven't had a Virus/Spyware attack in a long time...
