My bro, my uncles, some friends. It sucks balls. But the thing I find most disturbing is how the prison system treats the families of those incarcerated. It's horrible. I mean they treat people so bad just b/c they have a family member who did something illegal. I think they do it to make U not want to go to jail to visit any more. Further plunging the incarcerated person into a institutionalized framed of mind. Like my brother said "I went in as a petty criminal but I came out w/ a Ph. D. in crime-o-nology".:dead:

my older brother is locked up also, I hate going to visit him because they treat folks so bad.

It's so cold, it's not comforting at all, I swear I can write a book on the mood of going to visit a loved one behind bars, it's like you're being locked up yourself.

two of my sisters boy friends have done time , one she with now lives with me n my family , my grandpa has done county time , he always in and out of there until the earlie 80s .

There is a really good book about this type of thing. It's called "The Prisoner's Wife" by Asha Bandele. I bought a copy for me and one for Anerae. It's really good. I swear, I 've been throug everything that woman went through and every emotion she felt. Just found out yesterday that my older brother went BACK to jail. I don't understand how people can just be in trouble constantly like that.

But the people that work at the prison's do treat the inmates' families like shit. I've cried so many times goin through the bullshit just to get in for my visit. It's ludicrous. And you know how they start cuttin people's visits short when the room gets overcrowded? (unless you had to travel over 300 miles to get there) That's the bullshit. I remember one time, they tried to end me and Anerae's visit. The called out "Brown!" And I was like, "Brown came 3000 miles!" (Cuzz I came all the way from Pittsburgh, PA) So they let me stay.

in prison is it behind a window and a phone?in chino prison it was like that but we only went once.that was the last time i seen my brother.till he got out.

I think it depends on the inmate. All of the prisons that I've been to have been contact visits. But all of the jail visits I have been on have the "through the glass" kind.
