It's funny that Killa C is doing all the work himself actually, I wasn't expecting him to make the call to me saying my address is fucked up. You guys shouldn't sleep on this album its pretty good.

@LA - this the same album that you let me listen to at strictly strange in santa cruz or did the tracks change? cause i remember you sayin lynch was on it. and supposed to be 20 tracks. so i assume the 20th was with lynch but taken off

last time i asked la on here about the track that was suppose to feature lynch & tech he said something like he didnt have no connects to lynch/he didnt know him, etc.... i found that odd since lynch was on the gp album...

so what are ppls thoughts/reviews on la's solo debut? does it bump in the trunk? worth buying or downloading?
gimmie a track by track review.

damn this album is hella solid. worth buying or downloading.... out of the 19 tracks about 4-5 tracks could be fillers such as the paul wall track and yes la could use a bit more work in the hook department. production is solid, a couple tracks could use more work....la really improves lyrically & his fast flows are dope. definitley a step above the gp album.

serious is probably one the hardest tracks, if im correct lynch was suppose to be on the track, pegasus was aites, tech indeed kills the hook & his verse. if u notice in la's verse he says "made sicc" & towards the end of his verse he mentions tech & then a gunshot blast erupts (brotha lynch hung?) notice the last word rhymes with it... (if im correct when i asked la on this forum about lynch a couple months ago, he said something like he didnt know lynch or he didnt have no connects to get him at the time...i found it odd since lynch was on the gp album.....)

the cream of the crop is the last 6 songs after the ghetto skit where la gets deep & introspective. when he opens up thats where he gets thumbs up especially with the highlight of the album "trapped" where he talks about him being black & white trying to be accepted by both races....its a real dope all 3 verses & the hook with a good beat to back it up.
"just ridin" w/haystak makes me wanna smoke & ride and get away from everyday problems.. another thumbs up.
"conversation with the devil" is another dope track with a demonic voice rapping to la telling him to commit sins with la rapping back at the devil.
and last "lord please" w/krizz's smooth soulful hook perfectly compliments the slow beat with la's converstion with the lord. great ending to a great album.

NOTE: THIS CD NEEDS TO BE IN RETAIL STORES!!!! this should not be slept on!!!sucks that there was no promotion for this album etc.... cant believe strange didnt sign la or at least distribute this album nationwide. i could've swore this was a strange release with all the mentions of strange & guest appearances on this album, especially with the track "Strange" w/killa C (who drops a verse that is not annoying over a sick beat!) ordering online from dirtythug can only go so far, because not everyone will buy cds online (myself included).....

a great solo debut. if la keeps it up and improving, he may have a bigger and brighter future ahead of him..... will be keeping my ears open to future releases.now if only he could get the nationwide distribution he deserves...
rating: 3.5-4 outta 5.

was really surprised by this on a first listen, definitely better then S&S or Prozak's albums, wonder why Strange passed this up, with a little more budget this album could have been one of the better albums released on strange

not quite as disappointed as I was when the Ill Bill deal fell through, but kinda shocked they skipped on this but distributed the GP album
