its not that easy to make those beats. not a good quality sounding one. im sure some space cadets might be able to make a trap beat just to prove how easy it is to make but making a tight high quality trap beat that would actually be on the same lex luger/southside level would be hard

Precisely. The problems is that if you have hundreds of Lex Luger wannabes making that kind of beats but not on the same level, it really hurts the genre

I disagree M @markryn12 . Lex luger type beats are easy to make. Only thing that may be tricky is them fast hi hats and that's it. As far as sounds: strings, brass, timpani, and some synths, and layer em up like a bitch and presto.
$ @$ANFRANMI$$ION I think it also hurts lex luger more as a producer. Why would I go to lex luger when I can get a similar sounding beat for cheap from young chop or somebody else for cheap. As far as it hurting the genre a whole, brother that's a whole nother topic because rap in general is losing its individuality between regions. Its either lex luger clones, drake moody type beats, or sum techno shit.

it really does hurt him. big time. i wish luger copyrighted his sounds so he could sue the fuck out of the copycats. but i dont know if u can copyright drum kits and bass lines. i see what ur sayin about how easy it is to make them luger beats but i dont think any of the copycats have yet to make a beat that sounds better than his best work. BMF, hard in the paint, a zip and a double cup.

i heard he switched programs though. he's fuckin with apple now. logic i guess.

I have yet to hear Young Chop make a beat that matches the quality of Lex Luger's (others have but not Young Chop in particular). That's the essence of the problem.

Well, the optimistic view of him is that he is the new Wagner

The pesimistic is that he is the kid with the laptop doing simple beats that take very little talent to create.

Neither is entirely true, but the fact is that people weren't doing that kind of beats before him (sure, 36 laid the foundation 15 years before him but he did his own thing) and that is worth something...

Don't get me wrong, I admire the fact the kid is getting caked up for his style. Everyone who's hot has some luger production on their shiit. I'd love to be in his shoes no doubt. He is gonna have to step up his game though since there are hella people are making similar beats

i think other people jockin his sound need to step their games up. southside actually has some pretty good beats that can sound just as good as lugers. but they are like brothers tho

Gucci single-handedly held it down for the trap during the darkest years of the autotune madness. That alone is sufficient to earn him a much more respectable place in hip-hop history than he currently holds.

HELL NO. Young Jeezy the one who had that trap shit on lock especially with them first two thug motivation & recession albums. Gucci didnt really blow up big mainstream/commercial wise until he dropped that freaky girl song. so icey was a minor hit but not huge.

autotune is far from over you must not know whats hot now bc all them new niggas like future, cashedout, using autotune on every song. and if you pay attention trap music done changed to bc niggas sporta sing via autotune on them tracks now

Thats BS too bc Zaytoven the one who was doing that sound first if anything Lex borrowed his sound. Shawty Red was also doing that style long ago too

tHEM BEATS ARE EASY AS ALL YOU NEED IS FL STUDIO AND SOME KITS AND SYNTHS AND YOU ON. I heard unknown producers make some harder trap beats then Lexus done.

You def dont know the real deal. Lex the one who put out drum kits for people to use on FL and he also make videos showing how to make trap beats. He been doing that for years.
