I'm all about the outdoors in these games. I can't think of anything better than taking a piece if shit bucket to the mountains and ridin it till the wheels fall off
not being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no vehicle and having to run around on foot for 20mins just to find a piece of shit car then having to spend another 20 getting back to the city?

im positive i posted a very long time ago about how that horribly sucked in SA then every1 defended it lol

let me explain how the vehicle spawning system in GTA works. vehicle spawning is based on the general area you are in. if you grab a vehicle, then the game will take that vehicle information and similar vehicle types will be respawned in the same general area. this is so your shitty consoles arent storing every possible vehicle there is in its limited memory cache. this is why if you grab the super fast sports car in some ritzy area, all the sudden you will be finding super fast sports cars all over the place. or if you spend forever looking for a taxi and finally jump in one, all the sudden you see 10 taxis all over hte fucking place.

it was the same way with san andreas. this is why the country side will suck major ass.

if you spawn or are started off in a rural area with no vehicle, then no vehicles are going to spawn, and when they finally do it will be shitty rural area vehicles. highly doubt taxis will be there. it will be several minutes of running around looking for a shitty vehicle, which in turn will make other shitty vehicles spawn, and youre going to end up driving around a lot of the time in shitty vehicles looking for slightly better shitty vehicles to drive and find the least shittiest vehicle to get your out of the shitty vehicle zone as fast as possible. on top of that, things only spawn if you are not looking in that direction, which is fine in the middle of a city with lots of intersections and walls, but when youre in the wide open middle of nowhere, nothing will spawn. dont believe me? try running around in the middle of a busy intersection in GTA IV or san andreas, make sure to note that there are no vehicles behind you or around you. now do a quick 180. bam, car came out of nowhere. thats hwy you get hit by cars nearly everytime you charge across the street without looking. now if youre in some industrial area or rural area thats wide open, your shitty console is storing all of that map information rather than the vheicle information, and no cars are going to spawn for you in with that limited amount of cache

It is plainly how the game engine works, its not some conspiracy i have against GTA cause i dislike it, quite the opposite, i love the game. i just know how its going to work if the map is really like that. and trust me, ive played all the recent GTAs, running on foot with no vehicle even for 1 minute feels like it is draining your soul and makes you want to just not play the game anymore, especially when you realize how the game engine works and you keep looking in different directions to try and get a vehicle to spawn and it doesnt work. running for 2-5 minutes on foot in that game feels like you just ran a mile in real life, shit drains you and kills any fun at all
genius. i believe i read something that ps3 users can install vehicle information so the spawn system no longer works as described. please please some1 confirm

not a deal breaker though. ill be too busy trying to build a multi trillion dollar empire to fuck with the countryside anyway

In gta4 you could always use ur phone to have a car brought to u or call a cab. Damn butcher always the negative Nancy haha! Fuck best game of the year and i have to actually LOOK for a car? No Lamborghinis in a rural area? So unrealistic!!
well everything i was bitching in san andreas rural areas about they found a workaround, so its all good. and in gta4 you could only call roman for a cab every now and then. in gta4 gay tony you could call henrique i think it was but only so often, same with lost and damned you could have a bike brought now and then. if you can call unlimited cabs anywhere on the mapthatd be a nice workaround a consoles pitiful cache. putting you in those rural areas with no workaround would be a terrible step backwards and im glad they seem to realise that, especially if the helicopter dropoff is legit, thatd be a great improvement

Even tho its wilderness there's prolly tons if people and vehicles doin random shit

also in red dead you could just whistle for your horse and itd come running. i forgot how it worked exactly but there were plenty of times id be in the middle of nowhere, a cougar or bear would murk my horse and id just skin it and whistle a new one. sure it was unrealistic, but that was also one of the funnest most engrossing games ive played. imagine if you could only whistle your horse once per day and had to run on foot for 15 mins back to town or spend 15 mins looking for a new horse lol. thats all im saying. less downtime = more time spent having fun

Anyone have any idea of how early we should be getting to gamestop? I know the last Midnight release I got was for The Last Of Us and there wasn't a very big long line at all. For GTAV though, I'm guessinbg there will be a few hundred or close to, I just wanna know if anyone has any past experience on picking up hella popular games at midnight release. Thanks ya'll.
