The only thing that is lacking right now are games. I've been playing the 360 for a while now on a 52 inch HDTV. Max resolution is 1080i. Using component cables to connect. Graphics on it are great. I connected the PS3 to the same television using the digital connection (HDMI--->DVI) DVI video quality is the same as HDMI. Minus the audio. Video compression /uncompression doesn't take place in either. Games I played so far are Ratchet and Clank "Future Tools of Destruction" , MotorStorm, DefJam Icon, and Guitar Hero 3. The graphics, the physics, the processing power is all there and better than the 360. I'm no Sony fanboy. I love my XBox 360. So I'm unbiased. The load times are slow. and the Game demos have to be installed...but only once. Seeing it runs on a Linux platform I understand this. The average person may not though. Let alone...even know what Linux is. The PS3 allows you to install an additional OS on it...I think only Linux though. Again...this is exciting to me...probably not for the majority of people. Probably going to install YellowDog Linux on it. Overall , besides the Lack of games. The PS3 is the shit for HD gaming and Television.

I spent a lot of time reading about installing Linux, I have all the instructions ready to go to install YellowDog, but never came around to it.

But yeah I hear you, if you just look at the ps3 from a hardware prospective, and put aside all the console war shit, it is an impressive piece of hardware, I mean the Cell Processor stuff is pretty damn cool

How can you say that those games you listed are the ones that make you say that the PS3 has better graphics/physics/processing power then the 360? Plus you have the ps3 hooked up with a digital connection, while you still using an anolog connection with the 360...

I see the PS3 as more of an inexpensive blue-ray player that plays games...rather then a gaming console that plays blue-ray discs.

It's not the games per se, but what's happening in the games as I play. There is a noticable difference in the way the objects interact with the environment. The machine itself is more solid and seems built to last. I've had to send my 360 in once for repairs. And the drive sounds like it's about to give out again. I notice the noise level is more quiet on the PS3 which means it's running much cooler. Not sure if its the 90nm or the 65nm processors...but still cooler whatever it is. I look at it as a powerful computer that can play PS3 Games and Blu Ray movies. Each machine has it's Pros and Cons(360 controllers fit like a glove...PS3 controller tooo small for my hands). I like them both...no preference really.

i dont think many people can argue the ps3 as just an awesome piece of hardware. cant wait until they start making games that utilize it

I want a ps3 but im in no hurry to go get one. I wanna wait for another price drop and for them to come bundled with dualshock 3 (rumble) controllers and maybe have better blu-ray drive or something like that.

Im confused. Why was your 360 hooked up with component cables?

Why do yo have your PS3 hooked up via HDMI-DIV, as opposed to just using an HDMI cable all the way through?
