@Armen, I respect your opinions and viewpoints.. but let me ask you a question. Why is it that 'gang-bangin' is narrowed down to homeboys, skraps, B's and C's? Theres set-trippin goin on in the town, the V, the sco.. but that hardly gets a mention in the B.A.R.T forum. For every one gang related article out there, i can pull up about 4 or 5 articles of foolz gettin popped at over set trippin.. why is it E-40 can glorify set trippin "we mite set trip but we dont bang in the bay" but a homeboy who reps his shit is seen in a diffrent light?

If I Were To Answer That Question, My Responce Would Be That The People Who Are Not Smart Enough To Tie The 2 Lifestyles Together Are Misguided By Corrupt Media Outlets, E-40 Talkin About "Set Trippen" Doesnt Shine The Slightest Light Of Real Hood Life And The Struggle That Real Everyday Routine Gang Members Who Glorify A Known Organization Face. dont trip aye, you wont get flak for asking a serious question, its when people come in here to talk bullshiet that they get bullshiet tossed right back at em.. see, the word set-trip in itself implies conflict with 'trip'... Bangin for the most part, while it doesnt 'imply it', represents a unity of a people..I have never met or heard of a homeboy who was proud that a civilian got caught in the crossfire, in fact, ive heard of a few who got reprimanded for being so reckless. Its hard for me to put it into context of beneficial/regressive when its something that you grew up around and was raised into. It would be as if i tried to stop speaking slang in general when its been apart of my vocabulary since i was a tyke.. For the most part, if someone wakes up one day and looks at bangin as something thats going to benefit them in the material or character sense, then they are choosing the wrong reasons. It should be something that comes into the content of there character naturally since they were raised around it.. which is why people from neighborhoods and cities that dont have the poverty and ghettos, and who choose to bang, often get chastised and laughed at.. because the lifestyle was implanted into their brain from an outside source..

I see where your comin from. But you have to understand that law and order is dealt with in diffrent ways when the judge jury and executioner is a street based organization.... Should someone kill a child, wether intentional or not, they most often have it coming from the higher ups. Justice won't only be handed to dude by a court but also by the very people he is allied with. Homeboys, for the most part, pride themselves in projecting a respectful image when it comes to dealing with civilians.. (older homies anyway, some of these youngsters dont give a shit).and should one violate that image by doing something stupid, then the ones they represent are obligated to show, through example, that certain shit wont fly..

I can say tho, that in my city, O.G'z are plenty and will help set str8 a youngster who gets out of line... but for the most part, cant be as active as it used to be.
