Mine did. They were long suffering and forgiving just like God when they got mad.
It depends on your definition of innocent, and let me add that ALL bad things that happen to the innocent happen for a reason. Let me ask you something.
Lets say you are 16 years old and you rob a house. You leave with a tv, a video game system and a strap. Everything is good, and you get away clean. Lets say two weeks later you turn 17 and you hit another house. Again, you get away clean and you make out with 2 grand. Now, the first house, the guy won't miss it because he had plenty of money although you didn't get any because you failed to check under the sink. But on the second lick you walked away with 2 racks (almost twice the monetary value of the items in the first lick), BUT these two racks were the savings of an old lady and this was ALL she had.
Now, lets say you got caught for that lick, but you smoked up all the money before you were caught. They place you through the system, you go through a scared straight program, you become a law abiding citizen, you grow older, you become a big brother mentor and you are succesful in life. In mentoring you come across a child who has no education and little money. You take him under your wing, he grows older and he becomes a successful person.
