well if they trade him he's gonna have to play here for the rest of the season, and at that point we may be able to change his mind. he may enjoy living in the Bay Area, and we may have enough success with him here to make him think we can really win

my point is: what are we really giving up by trading Monta? we're not gonna win shit with the roster we have now, so why not shake it up?
so what happens if we lose Monta and then don't get Dwight Howard back? maybe next year instead of 35 wins and missing the playoffs we end up with 25 wins and missing the playoffs. Sorry, but Monta is overrated. If he was as good as people make him out to be, we'd be a playoff team. One player in the NBA makes a huge difference.
Worst come to worst, we trade Monta, Howard goes somewhere else next year, and we cleared up some money to go sign another free agent, ideally a big man
