I agree that they use these tactics for marketing, but thats not what attracts kids.
You completely contradicting yourself in this sentence.
Even with that, how can you say there is no thinking? Sure, you wont see a plot twist like a M. Night movie, but why would you do that?
And have you seen movies like Wall-E or Ratatouille? There are moral lessons and even hypothetical stuations that pertain to real life situations, eve if they are played out by "taling animals".
And on top of all that, whats wrong with just enjoying a movie that a) looks extraordinary and b) doesnt REQUIRE you to think too much? Its entertainment and eye candy. I mean, why bother watching something like Transformer? Its got alot of CGI and the plot was bland to go along with half-witted dialogue...how is that ANY different from wasthing Finding Nemo...per your logic?

That's weak that you don't watch movies with subtitles Shea because it means you are missing out on some of the best movies to come out in the last decade seeing they are foreign and subtitled.
I think some people (not saying you) are like anti-foreign movies too for some reason. Like I know a guy who won't watch a movie unless it's made in America or atleast made by Americans. His logic is that other countries can't match Hollywood's big budgets, special effects, etc ,etc so they must be shitty movies.
