GLENDALE -- A singer in the pop group 'Girlicious' has been arrested on a drug charge after police say they found more than a dozen bags of cocaine in her Gucci purse.

Natalie Mejia, 21, of Diamond Bar, was arrested in Glendale Tuesday night after a car she was riding in was stopped for speeding, Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

A Glendale officer found more than a dozen bags of cocaine inside her purse, police said.

She was booked at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale, according to police and published reports.

Mejia spent the night in in jail and was released in lieu of $30,000 bail at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records.

The driver, Peter Asencio, 28, of Burbank, was arrested on the same charge, police said.

Mejia was ordered to appear in court April 15.

'Girlicious' was formed by Robin Antrin, who also started the Pussycat Dolls.

Aside from Mejia, the other members of the group are Nichole Cordova and Chrystina Sayers.

In 2008, Mejia was a contestant on The CW unscripted series, "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious," beating out other contestants to become a member of the all-girl group.

Ok, so they were pulled over for speeding and the pigs found a dozen coke baggies in her purse? That doesn't make sense to me. She must be one dumb broad if she let some pig search her purse for "speeding." Pfft... 21 year olds =/

She was probably actin' fidgety in the car even though it was a routine traffic stop. Even if the cop suspected anything, he would've asked to search her and/or the vehicle, which probably was the case.

Even so... it was their right to say "NO" to a search. Pigs can't search you or your car for "speeding"... they need probable cause. Like if dude was drinking and driving... then the pigs woulda had probable cause to search, but they didn't. That young bitch snitched herself out and therefore I think she's as dumb as they come =/ Fuck her, she got what she deserved.

Yes, it was their right to say "NO". Did they though? Obviously not, otherwise they wouldn't have been searched. All they were gettin' pulled over for was SPEEDING. Why make the situation worse by even givin' the cop any indication that you have dope on you (PROBABLE CAUSE)?

isnt anything probably cause though?. cant her being fidgety be probable cause? and even if she wasnt, cant the cop just lie and say she was? or just lie and say she seemed coked out? i think once you deny a search, the cops now highly suspect you have something and will use any bullshit to have probable cause to search

It doesn't matter. A cop can search regardless of what you say and without a lack of a warrant. Probable cause is relative. If guy wants to search you because he just wants to then he will.

Cars, because they are mobile can escape. Thus no real need for a search warrant. And because escaping can cause a potential criminal to flee consent isn't required.

I doubt, although she might have, that she agreed to the search. Point is: it didn't matter. Ol' boy would have done it regardless.

exactly. i dislike cops and all but that whole "i know my rights and can tell the cops to fuck off from touching my car even if i'm hiding something" attitude seems very naiive and criminal justice 101 to me. ive heard people say shit like if you get out of your car through your window the cops cant search it or something stupid like that. sounds like shit people learn from little pamphlets handed out in berkeley by white kids with dreadlocks

glendale's right next door..glendale p.d. cops are the biggest assholes in law enforcement.them fags wil ticket you for the smallest thing.i'm not surprised they went through her things.

Sure, the pig could have done whatever he wanted, but would it hold up in court? Fuck no it wouldn't. I've seen firsthand cases get thrown out for the very simple fact that pigs didn't follow procedure, unless of course she consented to be searched like I'm sure she did anyway, then she fucked herself.

My old man's case was thrown out for that exact reason. Did the county try and fuck him? Yes because they wanted his fuckin' money, but he did his own research and kept on fighting for his rights (which most ppl just don't do and that's why mfkrs get fucked) and it almost went to the Supreme Court, but the greedy ass county finally admitted they fucked up and threw that shit out. It would have costed them a lot more money to drag that shit out and let it go to the Supreme Court and why would a county wanna lose money? And the Supreme Court def. woulda threw the shit out and that's why the county dropped all charges and threw his case out, because they knew my old man was right. I have a handful of friends too that's cases been thrown out because cops didn't follow procedures. Most dumb fucks just go w/ the flow and don't do their own research or fight for their rights and yeah... that's why you all think that "COPS can do WHATEVER the fuck they want" when in reality, no they can't. People just gotta take a stand and fight for their fuckin' rights.
