i love ghostbusters and i tried hard to enjoy the game but i just couldnt get into it. hopefully the new one is better. i wish they would make one based on the cartoon. then they should put the boogeyman in it and all the other cool ones from that series.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game may not have been a smashing success, but it has become something of a cult hit. It’s not too surprising that a sequel has been announced, and Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is scheduled to hit Xbox Live, PSN, and PC in Spring 2011.

In Sanctum of Slime, the player will reprise the role of the rookie Ghostbuster from the first game. However, you’ll be fighting alongside a new team. Sad as that is, it’s better than them including the characters but with different voice actors, especially after the standard set by the first game.

The game will feature both online and offline four-player co-op, gigantic boss battles, and the ability to drive the Ecto-4WD. Why can’t we just drive the Ecto-1? Is that too much to ask? Must we drive some four-wheeling monstrosity? That’s right, my inner child is having a nerd fit.

i will be passing on this release...without the original cast its pointless...much like a 3rd film....i totally understand the film though..them dudes are old and grey now.........but in video game world where only a voice is required...thats bullshit if they dont want to be apart of it..

It's not that they don't want to be a part of it. It has to do with the company making the game being changed, and I'm thinking that Aykroyd and Ramis not writing the script.

They don't own the trademark for the Ghostbusters logo that I know of, so it really has always been anybody's game as long as the money was right.

pretty sure akroyd, ramis and murray all hold rights to anything with the logo.....they're probably getting paid just by this thread's existence

i remember years ago murray saying he didnt want any part of a 3rd film so it never happened

if akroyd and ramis dont come through on a new video game script..then seriously what the fuck is the point...im not interested in playing a game with a familiar name with no history..could care less about establishing new characters
