A lot of people oppose the US not for the living standards within the US, but for the US’s foreign policy, Imperialism and Globalization. Many of these other countries have it so bad as a direct result of the US.

Are you saying these people simply just envy you? are you fucking retarded? Try living in France my friend, I prefer the french side of Switzerland though, it's THE SHIT. The only reason French people don't get along with Americans is because they are usually both arrogant and ethnocentric. And no, nobody in Western Europe envies you, trust me when I first moved to Switzerland I had the same mentality as you I thought everyone there wanted to be American and for some reason I thought the world evolved around the U.S.... not the case at all, you just need to get out for a while and realize we are a very isolated and ignorant population.
