The Hyphy Movement is gay as fuck. This song is also gay as fuck.

You're out in Kentucky repping the gayest movement ever created.. Find a way to be creative. Nobody making this hyphy garbage is creative because it's ALL THE SAME GARBAGE. Nobody says anything new, including yourself. How many fuckin times can you make a song that goes "Get stupid, go dumb" and "retarded" and riding the yellow bus.. It's whack as fuck. Go in a different direction.

You're a fuckin idiot. Unlike you, I reside in the Bay. Basically your whole bullshit post up there is saying that without this garbage ass gimmick the Bay would be nowhere. I agree. But why can't they come up in the game with real skill? Why does it have to be a faggot ass movement that makes the rest of the country think this place is full of morons on ecstacy?

Your song is the epitome of the Hyphy Movement. Your rhymes suck balls and the concept is ass. All it is is a hyped up crunk knockoff. No skill involved at all. Anyone, and I do mean anyone can make a song like that.

The hyphy movement is childish and whack as fuck. People like yourself are the reason it still exists. No "rapper" doing this hyphy shit is any good. Keak Da Sneak is garbage as fuck. He's one of the whackest rappers to ever come out of the Bay. Ever.

All this 'go dumb' shit was OK when it was just Mac Dre doing it. NOBODY else did that shit until after he died. It was OK when he did it because it was unique, and it was a style all his own. Now? Even fags like yourself are jacking his shit.

Get the fuck outta here.

I won't last 5 minutes? Why? Because I don't like the hyphy garbage? LMAO. Fuck outta here kid. I'm in the Bay all the fuckin time and I NEVER hesitate to give my opinion on that sorry excuse for music. Nobody has EVER said SHIT to me. It's like trying to fight a country fan because he doesn't like rap.

FUCK THE HYPHY MOVEMENT.

There's not much to know. All you need to know is it's gay as fuck. You act like it's a real movement towards the advancement of a region. All this 'movement' is about is talentless rappers moving units by creating an annoying gimmick that makes their region look ignorant. Without a gimmick they won't sell SHIT.

And by the way, I have cousins in East Oakland. Most of the crime there is drug related. Aint nobody gonna kill me over the hyphy movement. Maybe to jack me and buy some crack, but not because I said hyphy is gay. The only reason you brought up East Oak is because of the crime rate, you need to educate yourself kid. Don't speak on what you don't know.

When a grown ass man states his opinion, most of you kids aint doin shit. That's why nobody has SHIT to say when I diss the hyphy trash.. At least not in person.

^unlike my counterparts fatal and angel....i actually like the feel of the hyphy movement....but they are pretty much right about the lyricism....just like crunk.....some stuff they say is hype and crunk as fuck....but they have absolutely no real skill....the realest i seen out of the bay is fatal, taj-he-spitz, and mac dre......40 is nice too but not a real lyricist...he was better back in the day....think about it cuz....would u rather be famous and suck at rap or be the real shit and stay true to urself and not be famous?.....the one you would pick is the prime example of why rap is like it is. *umbravo ghost*

Real talk homie.

Let's face facts.. The hyphy movement was brought up because Mac Dre passed on. Dre was a well known rapper in the Bay Area, but not real big in other regions. The first thing I said when I heard he passed on was "Now everyone is gonna know who he is because he's gone." It's sad but it's true, Mac Dre was not big until he passed. Most of these youngsters that are knocking his shit now and rocking Mac Dre Thizz Or Die T-shirts weren't down with his shit when he was alive because he would've been a fuckin platinum rapper if they were. These hyphy cocksuckers used his passing and new-found fame to their advantage and ran with this so-called movement.. Most of the shit they do was the shit Mac Dre used to do back in the day, the only difference is he wasn't following anybody when he did it. It's koo when one dude is live enough to do some crazy shit, but once everyone starts doing it it's just gay.

You know how sometimes one kid does something gay, but it's just catchy enough to draw other people into doing it too? Well, that's what the hyphy movement is. Ghost riding cars, popping ecstacy pills, wearing huge ugly glasses, saying stupid shit like "yadidamean" and "go dumb" or dancing like a person with no rythm.. That's all shit that was whack as fuck but just catchy enough to get others to do it. All these weak ass rappers that rely on that shit to move units are a joke. You name me a real lyricist that has to rely on a gimmick to move units.. They don't exist. Real talent doesn't require a gimmick to sell. There are a few people who are down with the hyphy shit that are actually good rappers, but they don't need to talk about that shit and use the hyphy gimmick to sell their shit. The Team is a prime example. They use hyphy terms and shit but they have the ability to make hits without relying on that gimmick shit to sell. They have talent. If the hyphy movement was full of people like them I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it's not so I do.

I would like to know what/whom you consider a real lyricist, and you need to do some more research on Bay Area Hip Hop.

40 was ahead of his time, and people are just now catching up. I dont like the way he dummed his style down, but I feel him wanting to connect with the youth. (which was my reasoning behind making "Scraper Swangin') Dre too was ahead of his time, and his impact on the game was such that people have created a "movement" based on him & his persona. he was loved so much that people have tried to emulate him like people did when Pac passed. I dont agree with some of the things like the illicit drug use and destruction of property, but I do love the energy. ALOT of the stuff is annoying, but some of it I enjoy. To me it's no different then what ICP has done in creating the Juggalos....they are regional sub-cultures that have grown in other areas due to some mainstream exposure. taj-he-spits is indeed a VERY talented lyricist, and has some of the Bay's OGs like 40 & the FEDS behind him all the way. He's got the energy of the hyphy movement, with the lyrical prowess of your favorite rappers....if he gets some good direction, and improves his songwriting, he can make more then a regional impact.

if you are looking for some lyrics from the Bay....peep out.....

Zion I / the Grouch / Living Legends / Heiro / Jacka / Hus / AWax / the COUP / the Critic / 10sion / Errelevant / Mr. Kee / Playa Rae / Smigg Dirty

.....there is a hell of a lot more, but you get the picture.

everyone is influenced by someone or something....

A real lyricist has the ability to create complex and creative rhymes/schemes, while still saying what he wants to say. Lyricism is what seperates good rappers from those who are in it for the money and fame. An example of a real lyricist? Chamillionaire. Big Pun. Cuban Link. Crooked I. Eminem. Old school Twista. There's so many more..

I can't agree with this. E40 has never been a good rapper. His style has always been a simplistic rhyme scheme covered by a unique (sometimes annoying) delivery. He did have some cuts back in the day that were nice, but as far as being good, never that.

This is true, but only post-death. I wouldn't say he was ahead of his time, but he was a good rapper at times. My favorite song from him is "Whatcha Like," and in it he shows real ability. While he was alive he wasn't as popular as he got after he passed, which is the case with most deceased rappers. I don't know what it is, but people seem to feel them more when they're dead. Case in point.. Mac Dre's impact on the game was minimal while he was alive.

It does have energy, but every song is about the same shit. How long can this shit last? How long before people get sick of hearing about popping thizz and ghost riding their whip? How long before people get sick of being told to go dumb or get stupid or ride the yellow bus? This music is appealing to the youth who are easily influenced by anything that will allow them to let loose, which would be koo if everyone wasn't saying the same exact shit in their songs and if they found a more creative way of appealing to these kids. Most of it encourages them to pop ecstacy pills, and I've seen first-hand what the influence can do to these kids. I see kids who used to be good 3 years ago starting to pop E.. Of all drugs.. E!! The shit fries your fuckin brain. Glorifying it is as ignorant as it gets.

I have legitimate reasons for disliking this whack ass 'movement,' and unlike the creator of this thread suggests, I am not hating on the Bay and I would not rather see the Bay fail. I'd just like to see it succeed in a more respectable way.

True, but most people think Juggalos are gay as fuck too. So you're right, it's the same shit. Both are lame IMO.

I can't say I've heard them all, but the ones I have heard wouldn't be concidered real lyricists. Awax, The Coup, Mr. Kee.. None would be concidered real lyricists.
