There should be no surprise over this verdict. I'm surprised that people are surprised. Regardless of what happened before they ever met face to face, the evidence and position that Trayvon was in when he was shot makes this an easy case for Zimmerman's lawyers.

Marissa Alexander of Jacksonville had said the state's "Stand Your Ground" law should apply to her because she was defending herself against her allegedly abusive husband when she fired warning shots inside her home in August 2010. No Federal charges have been filed yet, but the NAACP is trying hard to get the Obama Administration to press charges.

Would be similar to when the cops who got acquitted for the Rodney King beating still ended up serving federal prison time because the Bush Administration filed Federal charges after the uproar and the riots.

The charges will be for Civil Liberties Violation and/or Hate Crime, not murder.

The comment about them not carrying about this if he was a black dude is funny, because if he was a black dude he wouldn't have walked, this is Florida, black people don't shoot people and walk in Florida.
