It took about 4 weeks for me to get my passport for Japan and Thailand. , but that was before the 9/11 shit went down. So yeah, they doing everything to make it more difficult period.

If you know a head of time, i would suggest getting a passport. Even if you have extra cash laying around. You need it to go to Mexico and Canada now.
