Like always...black people and their insecurity and lack of intelligence is causing them to look way too deep into something. If blacks applied that same effort of thinking towards something constructive, they would have something to be proud of. But like usual...they always think too hard when it comes to the bullshit to make them feel like victims of something. The guy wasn't being racist. Even if he was...so what? Black people talk down on white people and other races all the time. On TV, in music, movies, etc. But if those same races did the same thing...it's racist? I can't stand double standards. And the two groups of people that benefit greatly from double standards are women and black people.

I know that the guy is gonna apologize and kiss the ass of the sorry ass black community for his comments. But in my opinion, he shouldn't apologize because he didn't say anything wrong. If certain groups of black people don't wanna be called NIGGER, then they should quit playing the part.

he comes off as a huge douche bag during that whole conversation.

PLAYBOY: If you didn’t know you, would you think you’re a douche bag?

MAYER: It depends on what I picked up. My two biggest hits are “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and “Daughters.” If you think those songs are pandering, then you’ll think I’m a douche bag. It’s like I come on very strong. I am a very…I’m just very. V-E-R-Y. And if you can’t handle very, then I’m a douche bag. But I think the world needs a little very. That’s why black people love me.

PLAYBOY: Because you’re very?

MAYER: Someone asked me the other day, “What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?” And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a nigger pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, “I can’t really have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’"

PLAYBOY: It is true; a lot of rappers love you. You recorded with Common and Kanye West, played live with Jay-Z.

MAYER: What is being black? It’s making the most of your life, not taking a single moment for granted. Taking something that’s seen as a struggle and making it work for you, or you’ll die inside. Not to say that my struggle is like the collective struggle of black America. But maybe my struggle is similar to one black dude’s.

PLAYBOY: Do black women throw themselves at you?

MAYER: I don’t think I open myself to it. My dick is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a fuckin’ David Duke cock. I’m going to start dating separately from my dick.

PLAYBOY: Let’s put some names out there. Let’s get specific.

MAYER: I always thought Holly Robinson Peete was gorgeous. Every white dude loved Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And Kerry Washington. She’s superhot, and she’s also white-girl crazy. Kerry Washington would break your heart like a white girl. Just all of a sudden she’d be like, “Yeah, I sucked his dick. Whatever.” And you’d be like, “What? We weren’t talking about that.” That’s what “Heartbreak Warfare” is all about, when a girl uses jealousy as a tactic.

here is his tearful apology:

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/4633123
(video can't be embedded)

"it's been difficult because in my quest to be clever... in the quest to be clever and try to slither out of what i perceived to be constant persecution or somebody trying to pin me, which may or may not ever really be happening, but i think that it is a lot of the time when it's actually not. in the quest to be clever, i completely forgot about the people that i love and that love me. and as i have begun to (???) a whirlpool of selfishness, and greediness and arrogance...and thinking if i just continue to be speedy and witty and pull together as many fast words and phrases as i could, that i would be clever enough to buy myself another day without anybody pinning me down and saying 'you're a creep'. and when i should have just given that up and played the guitar... so i decided i would try to be as clever as possible all the time. and i did that at the expense of people that i love and that feels absolutely terrible. it feels worse than any headline i thought i could get my way out of. and i think it's important that you know that everybody on this stage is here playing with me not because they condone what i say in any interview... they are not on this stage because they support what i said, they're on this stage because they support myself as a possible future grown-up. and maybe they see something that i don't... so maybe i need to take a break from trying to be clever and spend a little time looking at what they see. cause they've done an unbelievable thing standing on this stage and standing by my side tonight. it's just not worth being clever.... i'm out .... just wanna play my guitar ... I didnt think it was racist at all. We all wont fuck a Arab broad becuz we think they have hairy muffs and they dont bathe correctly right?

I think he was being to real by being comfortable enough to say "Nigga" in his interview. He was basicly saying "yeah I have a Hood pass which makes me an Honerary Nigga. Black people love me, ask Dave Chappelle".

If E-40 was quoted for saying "he dont fuck White Girls, but the crackas in the burbs love me doe" would it be the same?
