that mixtape shit started on the east coast.all these garbage ass mixtapes are wack,i dont wanna hear u rappin on somebody elses beats.
Mac Dre,RBL Posse and all the other west coast O.G.'s wasn't makin mixtapes in the 90's,thatz one of the reasons why west coast rap was on top back then.
west coast rap would be alot better if yall would make albumz with original beatz instead of makin hella half ass mixtapes with other peoples beats....thatz just my opinion.

fuck the east coast, stand up 4 the west coast and stop makin mixtapes and ridin trends like the punk ass east coast be doin.

you alright bro? You sound pretty angry. I agree with you on albums.

There are some dope producers that would rather let their beats go to the highest bidder than to someone that can kill it.

Remember the purpose of the mixtape.

^^ agreed.

Mothafuckas ain't creative no more. They bitch about how producers sell their beat to the highest bidder and that no one gives them a chance and life ain't fair blah blah blah.

If you can spit fire you'll spit fire regardless period. And if you got heat then the producer will come to you you won't have to jack his beats.

If a producer ain't sellin you beats cuz you ain't got more scrill then the next dude. Then guess what? ... your shit is whack as fuck. Becuz in all reality he would make MORE money off a sic beat AND sicass flows. Unless I'm totally retarded and that makes no common sense?

When you jack beats and give a producer free advertisement your fuckin the game up. Your floodin the market with bullshit. Your also givin a real dude that maybe got talent in the beat makin department but will never be able to elevate his game and grow because of lack of exposure, not even a chance and shuttin him down.

Quick buck lazyass mentality and quantity over quality got the rap game to the place it's at now. And that shit ain't westcoast and it sure the fuck ain't bay area where we used to collaborate to come up with new ideas and better our style. We were all starvin back then and new that we needed to come together to progress and get the bay it's own style and swagger.

You can make anything your own style and even use the same notes and still be original. Take the first Million Dollar Dream compilation for example there are four songs with exactly the same notes and melodies but they sound completely different soak game and marinate on that one for a minute until you feel me on that statement.

IN OTHER WORDS YOU DON'T HAVE TO JACK BEATS. With a lil bit of creativity and feeling you can make that shit your own. Come from your heart... not everyones pockets. The game is stale as fuck right now and in perfect position for someone to come up and shine like a mothafucka with just a tinyass bit of originality or rememberance of what a powerful tool music really is.

I can feel that. I heard some of the dopest rappers on mixtapes.. on the East and even out here in the West. I dont think the big producers care as much as long as the beat was used in a hit song.. and then people going around using it for mixtapes.. Its almost an acknowledgement that the beat is dope and people wanna fuck with it.

But yeah, you got some sorry people that dont need to be rapping... that is what fucks up the mixtape game.

But then again you got sorry rappers that have money to buy a good beat... and that shit gets radio play. And we know some of these guys dont have the skill of many underground rappers.

the game changes, if mac dre or whoever else didn't do it then no one else should do it? besides aint nobody got a pistol making niggas buy mixtapes. it's a low budget way for dudes to get in the game.

I think mixtapes are good if a rapper is just startin' out and tryna get a buzz. Either that or they drop a mixtape in anticipation of a cd. I think people have lost sight of what a "mixtape" is. When I think of a "mixtape", there's some sort of transition from one song to the next; the end of one song mixed with the beginning of another. Its not just a rapper spittin' over an industry beat. Not only that, but mixtapes, for the most part are "hosted" by someone and MIXED by a DJ.

The way I look @ a mixtape is the same way I look @ a cypher or a battle..a way to prove yourself. Also I feel like albums are structured and need to be made in a certain format. With mixtapes you can be free and put maybe even some of your less creative or throw aways out to the public. Mixtapes are usually free anyways, so what are you bitchin about? Haha you can snag a free download or wait for an official album to drop. Just my two cents

i really dont see a problem with mixtapes if there original beats. Seems to me for the most part bay artists arent rapping as much over other peoples beats anymore.

Cant argue with that... but so did Hip Hop

all these garbage ass mixtapes are wack,i dont wanna hear u rappin on somebody elses beats.
definitely agree with that! There are too many young producers tryin to make a name for themselves that artists can utilize rather than jack other peoples beats, especially if your not gonna do it as good or better than the original.

Mac Dre,RBL Posse and all the other west coast O.G.'s wasn't makin mixtapes in the 90's,thatz one of the reasons why west coast rap was on top back then.

True.. but that was the 90's. Its 2010 and the game has changed/evolved. Artists cant use the same formula from the 90's in this day and age. You would never hear about them. if you want to be bitter at something, be bitter about the internet. Thats what changed the music game forever, in my opinion. Best believe if Dre or Pac were alive and active in the game today, they would drop mixtapes too. Its not dickridin, its keepin up.
