why is san bruno called trench town?
It's a long story, basically back around 93 the tongan crips and the avenue boys who were mostly latin folks connected together, and were always out posting on the streets, but no one ever came through the neighbourhood because there's no reason to be on the east if you have no business there. The east side of the neighbourhood is the lowest part of San Mateo County, that's why it was always called the Lower Side. And it's in the middle of all these other cities but always gets neglected. Plus it's one of the or if not the poorest area of San Mateo County which most people don't know about. This is due to the San Francisco Airport actually being right there in San Bruno and you hear planes every 10 minutes which shakes the whole house, so it brings property cost down. Anyway, one of the Tongan folks had studied the neighbourhood of Trench Town in Jamaica and felt as though the East Side of San Bruno was very much alike so he started schooling cats and it's history from there....
