Mixerr Reviews #109
This is Michael Mixerr. That's right! I will be doing a review on the recent popularity rise of brocon (brother love) in anime. On animes such as Oni Ai, Ore Imo (俺の妹
, Boku no Pico, Kanonkon, Brothers Conflict, and Prince of Tennis as well as other animes of the same subject matter that are related to this review.
For those who don't know what brocon is, brocon is when a sister or brother has an overtly obsessive crush on their brother whom they love so much. This love often leads to incest meaning that the sibling is so in love with their brother that they want to engage having sex as siblings. Siblings who displays these types of behaviors often have attachment issues. These issues can do psychological damage if this premarital sex or incest continues. Not to mention incest is illegal in most countries. Also brocon means brotherly love.
In the most recent years, the anime market in Japan, United States, Korea, United Kingdom, and Canada has seen a huge popularity rise in the brocon category. During the 2010s, animes such as Oni Ai and Ore Imo (俺の妹
have the brocon content in both the anime and manga which made the brocon / incest sex scenes in the underground Japan otaku culture very popular.
Other than that, brocon and siscon have been very popular recently in the 2010s era even with the controversial unpopular Tokyo Child Bill Law which was enforced and enacted in 2010. To make a long story short, this law lasted from 2010 to 2011. A whole year. No in at animes were allowed to be sold at the time. That sucks. Incest duos such as Kirino x Kyousuke and Akito x Akiko have paved way for the brocon category. So has Negi x Akane.
