It makes sense for the first time ever in the past couple years there are rappers and producers from Seattle that I'm actually a fan of their music and then Macklemore comes around and that's what we are known for
Macklemore is a stand up dude from all accounts I've heard. I think some of his songs are a little agenda peddling from a place that he has no first hand knowledge of what it's like to be in their position - like the whole gay same love song thing - but I think dude is doing it sincerely and means well.
That said I think his music is pretty awful and it's definitely better fitted for pop categories even though there is rapping going on or whatever.
