MANATEE -- A Myakka City man was charged with battery after he threw a bowl of chicken wings at his wife in the heat of an argument, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Patrick Arthur, 51, was arrested at 7:07 p.m. Monday after deputies were called out to his home in the 4900 block of Wingate Road, according to an arrest report.
When deputies arrived Arthur was reportedly seen calmly walking out of his home, talking on the phone and drinking a glass of wine.
"Patrick told me that he was tired of his marriage and all the fighting, so he tried to leave only to be stopped," the deputy wrote in the report.
Arthur told the deputy that his wife kept following him and wouldn't leave him alone so he threw a bowl of chicken wings at her hitting her in the upper body, according to the report.
Even though Arthur's wife said she did not wish to file charges, Arthur was arrested and transported to Manatee County jail.
No injuries were reported.
On Wednesday afternoon Arthur appeared before a judge. He was ordered on supervised release and ordered not to have any unwanted or harmful contact with his wife.
