yea ppl are stupid I agree... but as a consumer, when I get shitty service I'll put it out there. I mean whats worse then bad ratings about your business across the internets?

Flipside around I give 5 stars when need be. I don't know... just something to pass time, you can pretend to be a reviewer - and give yourself a false sense of importance.

What you typed also is what sucks about Yelp (and sites like them in general). People will go out of their way and to great lengths to complain about something (sometimes rightfully so, sometimes not) but usually don't say much when things go right and/or are great.

When I use to manage restaurant and a cafe... it was always like that. People are far more prone to spread bad experiences then good experiences. People getting pissed off for the stupidest shit also.
