tell me what they did after their first 8 years of existence that makes them the greatest metal band ever

The Black Album was mediocre and everything after was hot garbage

Kill Em All, Ride The Lightening, Master of Puppets, and Justice For All were all good but those 4 albums definitely don't make them the greatest of all time

Who said it did? They couldn't hold up the quality though so as whole it makes them not the greatest ever, in my opinion at least.

St. Anger was awful. Their last great album was the self titled where they were starting to switch up their sound and had found the perfect mix of each. It was all down hill from there.

Also Lars being a little bitch isn't metal at all.

The song st anger not the album, i said select few of their new stuff and yes the entire albums are not great but there are gems on each of them.

And yes lars is a little bitch but kirk fucking rocks

I didn't downplay anything, I said they were good, but they don't make them the greatest ever by any means, i'll put Slayer, Motorhead, Pantera, Anthrax, Sepultura over them any day, and those are just bands off the top of my head, i'm sure I could think of a lot more i'll put over Metallica
