After seven days in stores, her debut has sold 3,900 pieces, according to HitsDailyDouble, this is the lowest first week sales by an artist signed to a major record label. The previous record holder was Soulja Boy who sold just 14k albums of his previous album.

Honestly, I think labels are going to catch on that youtube senesation does not equal record sales and $$$.

Example: Lil B, Souljah Boy, Kreayshawn.

I think all those would do far better indy, just releasing singles, and little cheap albums here and there. I mean do they really need a major label to book shows? nope.

Columbia went full retard with Kreayshawn's album, first they released it a good year late, then they made it a Hot Topic only exclusive lol why the fuck would a major only want their artist in Hot Topic stores? They lose all those people walking around Best Buy and Target and all them stores who buy shit off impulse out the corner of their eye.

I bet Riff Raff wouldn't get much sales, but he has diplo behind him. He would need a mainstream single though.
Honestly having Diplo doesn't mean shit. He was on Kreayshawn's album and she's affiliated with him thru Lil Debbie thru Riff Raff, and it didn't help whatsoever. lol

I don't think Riff Raff sells much but at least he's smart about it. I think the majority of profits from album sales go to him alone.
