Yesterday some homeless dude tried to walk into the lobby but the valet scared him away and he yelled "Why ya'll got a black girl working at the desk?" after seeing one of my co-workers. He himself was black so we couldn't figure out what context he meant with that statement.
Also some really drunk guy showed up saying he had a room with us but his key was demagnetized so he couldn't get on the elevator and when I looked up his name he wasn't staying with us. He had a room key so I called our other location all the way across town and sure is shit he was actually staying there. He then proceeded to quietly mumble argue with me that no he was staying with us until I ignored him then he walked away. I saw him sleeping in the doorway of a business a few blocks up from us on my way home lol
Like look, I make assumptions left and right, second by second of every waking hour, you aren't special enough to assume I made an assumption about you that matters. You'd probably short circuit their brain.
I had an old lady yell at me because I asked "how are you guys doing tonight?" years ago to a group she was in (mix of guys and gals) and she felt the need to explain to me that they weren't all guys.
