Ok is that a top down list of the best to worst? I thought michigan was supposed to be good? Didn't they win a bowl?

Also can u rank the bowl importance
I didn't list teams best to worst. You can see the standings on websites like ESPN.

As far as bowl games there are 6 major bowl games which are the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Peach Bowl. Under the new playoff system 2 of these games will host the semi finals each year while the other 4 will be big games for the remaining teams that didn't make the 4 team playoff.

After those bowls there's like 30 corporate sponsor named bowl games that range in level of importance lol

Yeah it gets confusing.

Basically what happens is there's polls that rank the 25 best teams. The top 4 teams at the end of the season play in a 4 team playoff to determine the National Champion. If a team ain't playing for the National Championship, they want to at least be invited to one of the major 6 bowls that ain't hosting the 2 semi finals games. Those are considered "big" bowls.

All the other ones are just kind of like a end of the season blow off game. Bowl season lasts for like 2 weeks. There's a ton of bowl games between December 19th and January 2nd. Here's this years list.
