I'd generally agree although I like the US Shameless more than what I've seen of the UK one (which is only a few episodes) but I'm probably just biased because Emmy Rossum is in the US one.
Usually any remakes are sub par to the original. Every now and than you'll have some good ones to the rare one that is better.
