Like I said, slap the same components inside for the same functionality, place a different name on the outside, this is psuedo-capitalism. Let's pretend to give the consumers choices by only changing the name. Component life and functionality limitations are determined during manufacturing, which determines price point.
Except it's not the same components lol Samsung makes its own components, Samsung makes better quality components, hence the reason Samsung costs more than Changhong.

Go buy a Changhong and go buy a Samsung with similar specs, run them for the next 3 years simultaneously, tell me which one has better picture quality at the end (if the Changhong even makes it that long) and it's not a decision to "let's slap it together better" during manufacturing that determines it.

Yup. I sold electronics for years and hate that argument. yeah some companies share components, but you get what you pay for. For the most part.

So many of my friends ask my advice when buying electronics then just go buy a visio or changhong or whatever and wonder why it lasts 3 years. I've bought 3 TV's my whole life, first one when I was 15 and they are all still working. Same with stereo's. I've bought 4 and they all currently work just fine. Don't buy crap and it will last. Or do and just factor in replacing it in 5 years.

A lot of the big name manufacturers buy components directly from Samsung or Toshiba, that's one of the reasons the quality is so much better.

Brands you see at Walmart sales like Changhong and Hisense that a lot of times won't even turn on when people bring them home, hence the insane return rate manufacturer their own extremely cheap parts of buy extremely cheap parts.
