they weren't banned, they just weren't granted a News broadcasting license to create Fox News Canada. Canadian Law says all News reported in Canada must be backed up by fact and not opinion, they said Fox News Canada can be created, but not as a news network, but as more of a satire network and Fox decided against starting it.

Canada gets props though for basically saying Fox News is straight up liars and don't actually provide "news"
