I played on frostwolf.
Blizzard lied about pvp though. They advertised it as a world pvp environment then changed the model because people complained about getting killed and also because their shitty servers couldn't handle it.
One time within the first weeks of release we gathered up like 600 horde players to raid storm whatever, that alliance city. The Gms kept telling everyone to stop and we crashed the whole server anyway by storming the gates haha. At the time anytime an alliance guard spotted a horde player, it'd hail the horde player and like 7 guards would spawn per horde player. So there were thousands of npcs that crashed the entire server for 3 hours.
Then they raided ogrimar, and easily killed every single npc because you can just walk into the city from the side, and horde citoes only have like 10 guards.
They panicked when they realized all the whiners were complaining about questgivers being killed and their servers were constantly crashing, so they instanced all pvp in shitty ass zones with a limit of players, added dishonorable kills so you could'nt really kill everyone anymore, and started banning people who killed someone more than once
I dunno It could've been a cool game if they actually allowed world pvp like they advertised instead of stealing everquests instancing and raid model and eliminating organic pvp
