I think he is, I'd say the main argument against him would be under .300 average and no world series. But nearly 500 home runs, 2000+ hits, 1500+ RBIs and being the best Puerto Rican power hitter ever, all while the Jays were in their decade slump.

The 4 home run game only helps seeing as only like 10 people have done that in the past half a century.


His whole career was overshadowed because of a bunch of dickheads on steroids or with corked bats.

I don't think <.300, <500hrs <3k hits is enough any more...Being a certain race shouldn't mean anything, and they gave him a WS ring, he just didn't contribute to the team that year...

From what I hear from HOF voters is they don't like the amount of players that have made it in the last 10 years or so and they want to be a bit more strict on letting people in. Also they are looking more at metrics that measure if, in any given season, that person was the best player in their league.

Guys like Giambi, Delgado, Walker, Piazza were great, but I think they just fall a little short.

Yeah, you make some good points. But I'm completely biased and have to disagree entirely.
