so this is my current dilemma
at my current job, my title is loan servicing specialist 4. my manager has a position open for a loan servicing specialist 5. she basically told me to apply for the job, and basically said she was gonna give me the job if I applied. It would be the same job I have now, just more money, probably around a 7% raise. sounds good, except here's the thing.
at my job, when you first get hired, you are not allowed to apply for any other position in the company for the first year, unless your manager approves it. I know my manager would not approve me moving to another department, so I haven't even bothered. my year is gonna be up on September 1, but if I apply for this position in my department, that year starts over again, and I'm basically stuck in my department for a whole other year, unless I get a job with a different company.
now I like my job, but my manager is a crazy bitch. she hella likes me because I'm dope as fuck at my job, but she is still crazy. if I don't apply for the job I'll probably end up on her shit list because she'll think I'm not loyal or something. the good news is I could get out after 9/1, but there's no guarantees I'd land a position in another department, and even if I did, the biggest raise I'd get is maybe 9%, which isn't much more than I'm gonna get with this job. also, a lot of other departments get more shine and recognition than my department does, and have cooler managers as well.
so what do I do brehs? say fuck it, I'm gonna keep making what I make now and hope I can land something else in a few months, knowing my manager will hate me and put me on her shit list, or take the guaranteed extra money and have my manager continue to like me and think I'm dope as fuck.
