Drill is the great grandchild of three 6 mafia/memphis imo. three 6 mafia birthed them 808's and fast hi hats, then lil jon and Atlanta took it and made crunk, then it morphed into trap music, and now its drill rap. my only complaint is i wish they had more lyricism at times, and a lot more quality control. but overall its gangsta rap from the perspective of niggas who bang in chicago. them lil kids got the whole country trying to rap like them, or at the very least rap over the same beats they use. pretty crazy. which also bothers me because i do miss the regional sounds/styles that each region had. everybody is conforming to one particular sound/style these days. its either a trap beat, a drake type beat or a mustard beat, or some rick ross yacht music.
me and nuttkase dig the drill rap because of its origins, and us being HUGE three 6 mafia/memphis fans when we were kids. shit me and my dude spray painted three 6 mafia on his truck our senior year. all we bumped was three 6 mafia lol used to ditch community college when my boy was there to slap three 6 in his lexxo with the sick ass system. memories
