So I gave it a lsiten. From a consumers standpoint it wasnt bad. The production was solid props to nobe. Katz your lyrics were cool but imo your vocal tone and flow need work. The flow and tone almost made some of the songs boring and took away from your lyrics. It seemed as though your features outshined you on the project not from a lyrical standpoint but delivery wise. Props for the free download ill definatley be looking out for your future projects. Again im not a rapper but i do buy music..............
thanks for the feedback, thats exactly why i released this project for free and before the album im really going to push (High Doses). was there any verses of mine that worked (flow wise) in your opinion? or were they all pretty even?

Honestly again lyrics and production are cool. But it sounds like your trying to rap rather than rapping and enjoying it. It does'nt sound natural like your just flowing. Hope that makes since also would like to hear a lil more feeling in your voice. Voice is a lil dull at times. Your lyrics are better than a few of the features but there flow and delivery is better so it takes shine away from you. Hope that makes since keep hustlin..........

Katz - Failed Treatment

Infantry member Katz brings his new street album to the table with Failed Treatment and brings some fantastic production with him.

Overall the album has some really solid production, which brings alot of variety to table as far as beats go. Nobe's beats shine the brightest, but there really isnt any really bad beats on here.

As far as the rapping goes, Katz shows some great writing skills but his flow is sometimes lacking. With some more work on his flow, delivery and confidence on the mic he can only get better. The lyrics and voice are there just gotta work on the things i mentioned above.

Two of my favorite songs on the album are Feelin' It and Do My Thang, which both feature Nobe. Nobe cooks up a heater on Feelin' It and also co-produced Do My Thang with Beeyobe, which is smooth as a mothafucka. Also Nobe does a great job on the hook for Do My Thang aswell.

I Get It is another dope track with an old school Pete Rock type of beat from Nobe, that Katz sounds at home on. I think beats like this fit Katz style more then some of the others, even though the others are dope beats, this kind of production just flows with him better in my opinion. This is a good relaxing track with that old school hiphop feel to it. I could picture a summer time video on the beach with some beezies, smokin way to much blueberry and og kush. The beat has a kind of Souls Of Mischief, 93 till infinity feel to it aswell for me.

Im Broke is produced by JE Dub and is a well made beat that Katz spits true life stuff about him being on the grind and while not having tons of money yet, hes on his way there grinding. The chorus is a letdown, and Katz flow and delivery could be better but the lyrics and production is the highlight here. Decent song but not up there with the other good tracks on this album.

Im Dope is a crazy slap, once again produced by Nobe and features Young Rebz, Nobe and Katz spittin hard. Sick chorus, great production and the rapping fits in well on here. Another highlight of the album right here no doubt.

Heartless is another track that has a good beat, good topic and lyrics but that just isnt delivered or executed aswell as it could be. Still the production is excellent and Katz lyrics sound like they are coming from the heart.

Snakes in The Grass is another good song that Nobe kills on the beat and Def The Heffa rips apart. The hook is also very well done, if more of the songs on this album had a chorus done aswell as this or on Feelin' It.

We Be Perkin is on a more party type style and is decent but not a song I would listen to much in the future to be honest. The beat from Mart85 is nice but not as slappin as some of the other beats on the album. Still not a bad song at all, just not up to par with some of the better songs on Failed Treatment.

The production overall is very good on here, and while alot of the lyrics are well done, alot of Katz Delivery and flow just doesnt do the beats justice. Overall though this is worth checking out for the production and variety in songs. Also the recording and mixing sounds very good on some songs and then not so good on other songs, weither its the lyrics not being loud enough or what ever, that aspect could also be improved.

Do My Thang, Snakes In The Grass, I Get It and Im Dope are tracks Ill be bumping in the future no doubt. If Katz can keep at it and improve the things that need improving then he could be someone to really keep an eye out for, because his writing skills and the production on here shows tons of promise.

Inf Gang been puttin in work with there Inf Gang TV and there mixtapes and now this, so ya gotta hand it to em for hustlin and steady improving at what they love doing.

SCORE: 7/10
