And it seems that Gore knows how to catch those passes with one hand, haha. Maybe that's a habit he's gotta learn to lose
Nah, if you notice, a lot of the time he catches with one hand.. the ball was slightly misfired. Sure he could try to go up with 2 hands and get it but that would actually make the catch harder. Team officials, and even Gore himself, have said that he could play WR if he wanted to.. That's how good his hands are. On the short screens that he one-hands, they're soft lobs and very easy to catch with one hand if you know how. I doubt we'll see him trying that shit downfield with one of Alex's deeper-type passes.

He was a decent back last year. Now he's a top 5 back.

LJ is the beast.

I agree. But Frank is 2 yards behind him, in two less games played ! Plus, LJ is going up against one of the top run defenses in the league, while next week, we're off to St. Louis, who has the 2nd last ranked run D in football...

I think the only backs that are as good or better are LT and LJ. But this is only Frank's second season and he's already in the hunt for the rushing title. He also shows great receiving and blocking skills.

Props must go out to the O-Line though.. They ARE getting it done. But unlike Shaun Alexander of last year, they aren't the main reason Frank is getting shit done. He breaks tackles and shakes dudes out their cleats. Last year he averaged 5 yards per carry behind a horrible O-Line, this year I think he's at 5.5 YPC.

The only downfall is fumbles, but like I've said before, Frank loves football and wants to improve in every aspect of play. He'll have all the kinks worked out very soon.

the reason he was fumbling earlier in the season is because he didnt have all his strength back in his shoulders after he had surgery on them.what happened against the seahawks was just a lack of concentration, but im confident he will improve on that. just look at Tiki Barber,he used to fumble all the time, but not anymore.

Why do you have to make comments like this? Then you bitch and moan when people jump on your fuckin raiders. Nobody said he WAS LaDainian Tomlinson, dude said the Niners got their own LT. LT is the man who makes SD's offense churn. Gore is the same way for SF. That's why he said that.

If you would just zip it and stop trying to point out flaws in Gore's game nobody would say you're hating!!
well the way I see it, LT is one of the best backs in football.....over any time period.....what you fail to realize is I'm boasting a division rival, which I'd much rather see suffer than the 9ers who are still a bay area team, so I'd wish them success but only after my team. the way I took him saying "we have our own LT" was like saying "we have our own future hall of fame running back", because thats what LT is gonna be. he's just that good and there's no denying it. I wasn't putting down gore or your precious 9ers  so quit getting your red laced panties in a bunch.

I agree 100%.

If Gore has continued success he might end up being a future Hall of Fame back as well. That's not saying he is as good as LaDainian and I understand it's far too early in Frank's career to jump to conclusions, but you can't deny that Gore has all the attributes to be one of the best RBs in the league for years to come.

The way I took what dude said is like this.. LT is the man that makes SD's offense move. He's very important in their gameplan and without him SD wouldn't do as well as they do. The same is said with Frank Gore. Also, LT is normally in the hunt for the rushing title, Frank Gore has gotten into that hunt.

They're both catalyst for their teams. Gore and LT have the same attribute of constantly moving their feet to get extra yardage or to break away from would be tackles. LT has a knack of getting in the endzone while Gore does not. But in due time, Gore will learn how to get in the endzone. Niners need to do whatever they can to get him signed for the long-term.

I know gore is good....but as you said its far too early in frank's career to jump to conclusions.....I just took what he said differently. Gore is showing the ability, but then again this could just be a very good year for him.....although the last few games of last season he was showing promise....but then again so was lamont jordan.....so only time will tell

He looked good all season long, but he had to share the load with that waste of space named Kevin Barlow. He averaged 5 Yards Per Carry as a rookie and led the team with over 600 yards rushing while being the backup to Barlow. Not to mention the offensive line was depleted and sucked nuts.

Yeah but last year wasn't Jordan's rookie year. It might have been his first year as the feature back, but then again this year is Frank's first as the featured starter and look what he's doing as compared to Jordan last year (and this year). IMO you guys need to look for a better RB or your team isn't gonna get shit done offensively, even if you beef up the O-Line.

Gore Wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore was named NFC Offensive Player of the week by the National Football League for his performance in the 49ers 20-14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday.

Gore registered his sixth 100-yard game of the season with a CAREER-HIGH and franchise record 212 rushing yards on 24 carries and had four catches for 26 yards in the 49ers 20-14 win against division leader Seattle. Gore’s 212 yards pushed him over 1,000 yards for the season with 1,043 yards rushing. He is the 49ers first 1000-yard rusher since RB Kevan Barlow had 1,024 in 2003.

Gore is on pace to finish the season with 1,669 yards, which would be the highest total in franchise history. Gore had four rushes of over 20 yards against the Seahawks including runs of 51, 50, 23 and 20 yards. Gore is on pace to finish with 10 100-yard games. The 49ers record for 100 yard games in a season is six by Garrison Heart in 1998 and Roger Craig in 1988. The 49ers finished with 262 yards rushing on the day. It is the 8th highest total in team history and the most yards rushing in a game since the team rushed for a franchise record 328 yards vs. Detroit on December 14, 1998.

It is the second time this season that Gore has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He was honored following his 134-yard rushing performance in the 49ers 34-20 win over Oakland on October 8. Gore is the first 49ers player to be named Offensive Player of the Week two times in a season since WR Jerry Rice in 1994. It is the first time a 49ers player has been honored two times in the same season since DT Dana Stubblefield had two NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in 1997.

It is third time this season that a 49ers player was recognized as a player of the week. In addition to Gore being named NFC Offensive Player of the Week two times, LB Brandon Moore was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week today by the National Football League for his performance in the 49ers 9-3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.
