I challange anyone that doesn't like President Bush to read all of these quotes and post an intellegent response.

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to Develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line?"
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
- Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has .... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Sadism continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
- Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others,
Dec, 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandated of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" Rep.
- Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weap ons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members .. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to Miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

Hans Blix: Iraq Destroyed WMD 10 Years Ago

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix now believes Iraq (news - web sites) destroyed its weapons of mass destruction 10 years ago and that intelligence agencies were wrong in their weapons assessment that led to war.

In an interview with Australian radio from Sweden, Blix said the search for evidence of biological, chemical or nuclear weapons would probably only uncover documents at best.

"The more time that has passed, the more I think it's unlikely that anything will be found," Blix said in the interview, which was broadcast on Wednesday.

"I'm certainly more and more to the conclusion that Iraq has, as they maintained, destroyed almost all of what they had in the summer of 1991," Blix said.

In 1991, the United Nations (news - web sites)' International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) found what it called a secret nuclear weapons program in Iraq. It spent the next seven years dismantling Baghdad's nuclear capability, until its inspectors were thrown out of Iraq.

Before ordering the invasion that toppled President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), President Bush (news - web sites) referred to an imminent threat posed by Iraqi weapons of mass destruction as a prime justification for war.

"In the beginning they talked about weapons concretely, and later on they talked about weapons programs...maybe they'll find some documents of interest," Blix said.

Blix spent three years searching for Iraqi chemical, biological and ballistic missiles as head of the U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission.

U.N. inspectors left Iraq in March this year as American and British forces prepared to invade. Calls for their reinstatement have been denied, with the U.S. occupation authorities preferring instead to set up their own body, the Iraq Survey Group.

After more than five months of searching, no weapons of mass destruction have been found by the Iraq Survey Group, which consists of about 1,500 experts.

U.S. officials said in July that the search had uncovered documents pointing to a program to develop such weapons.

But the U.S. media network ABC News reported on Monday that a draft report by the Iraq Survey Group provides no solid evidence that Iraq had such arms when the United States invaded.

The U.S. government has consistently said the search for weapons of mass destruction will take time and that it is confident evidence will eventually be uncovered.

Point is this: You're going to believe whatever you want, but it's politicians jobs to stay up on what's going on in the world. Saddam needed to be taken out....

You saw what happened when Clinton didn't do anything to a crazy man, it blew up in our face. It had to be taken care of and if you say it didn't.... you're just plain wrong.

If you don't think Bush exagurated the case for war, then you might as well check into a mental institution right now, because you are certifiable.

It kind of suprises me to see Republican/Bush partisans on this board. Hip hop represents the minority and urban communities, but republicans have a history of destructive neglect towards these groups.

Let's not forget Ronald Reagan, who Bush wants so hard to be. He did nothing to solve the crack problem of the 80s, except launch the laughingly inadaquate "just say no" campaign. Reagan believed that drug use was a personal decision, and that the government had no business trying to help those who needed it.

What did Reagan think of the 5% of African Americans who had used crack? They made their choice, and they should face the consequences, without his help. Disgusting.

He had the same opinion of those infected with aids. Some in his whitehouse(and some say Reagan himself) believed that aids was a plague sent by god to punish homosexuals. You heard me.

The republican party and the Bush administration have such a criminal disregard for the powerless in this country, and such a desire to serve the powerful, that I cannot imagine someone interested in music that represents the powerless when they support a politician with such disgust for them.

"The body of my text posess extra strength
Power-liftin powerless up, out of this, towerin inferno
My ink so hot it burn through the journal
I'm blacker than midnight on Broadway and Myrtle
Hip-Hop past all your tall social hurdles
like the nationwide projects, prison-industry complex

Broken glass wall better keep your alarm set
Streets too loud to ever hear freedom sing
Say evacuate your sleep, it's dangerous to dream
but you chain cats get they CHA-POW, who dead now
Killin fields need blood to graze the cash cow
It's a number game, but shit don't add up somehow

Like I got, sixteen to thirty-two bars to rock it
but only 15% of profits, ever see my pockets like
sixty-nine billion in the last twenty years
spent on national defense but folks still live in fear
like

I like your logic... so the crack epidemic was actually a good thing. I can tell you've never been anywhere near one of the bay's more needy areas.

The bay rappers may have slung a little crack in their day, but you'd better believe they would have given it up if it meant freeing their communities from the black hand of the drug.

I met Kevin Epps once, the director of Straight Outta Hunter's point. Crack put his sister into prostitution and his mom on the pipe. Do you really think that was a good thing? Go and tell him that, and then get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Sometimes I sit back and think what a contribution people like MLK, Malc X, Pac, and others have made towards enlightening people about the urban blight, and then the people who don't know shit about shit pop their heads up, and I realize that we're as clueless as we've ever been.

For those who don't know, Pac was for Dukakis in 88, and it was MLK who mobilized people in the 60s. They largely voted democrat, and they still do.

Perhaps the man who understood the nation's urban problems most, was Robert Kennedy. He too was a democrat. He was the first white politician to visit Watts after the riots... he visited every ghetto in new york, and every illegal immigrant labor camp in Cali. Do you really think that Bush is in the tradition of RFK?

You either represent urban culture, or Bush. There is no middle ground.

I still don't like Bush

The Iraq situation aside, there's still plenty of reasons why people dislike Bush, including his environmental policies, economic strategies, and the appointment of that facist John Ashcroft to attorney general.

LOL... any and everyone who all of a sudden is so "anti war" gets exposed. they have every duty to tell the American people how wrong they were along with the president... in stead the democrats turn to weenies and blame it all on Bush and try to act like they told you so. " Honey the faucet's leaking!!!" --- "DAMNIT BUSH!!!"

We have gone two years without a terrorist attack because the Bush administration is in office, which is next to a miracle, which no one will give him credit for..... but make no mistake about it...... all the Dems will team up again on Bush if one does occur, when reality we would have been hit already with an attack if hippy boy Gore had won.

I spent a little time with Al Gore. He was the real deal... You could just look at him whenever he heard someone's sob story, and you knew it hurt him. You could tell he was personally insulted by the weight of Bush's tax cuts going to the rich. He let me in on this fact(I checked it out. The New Republic reported it too):

Of the six countries in Europe that outperformed the United States' economy in the last 10 years, 5 of them were high tax economies, the exception being Ireland.

And then Bush goes out and says that our taxes are hurting us.

Some politicians lie. But there are venerable RFKs, passionate MLKs, and the occasional courageous Cesar Chavez out there. We just have to believe that they are there and find them.

Let me add this too: it's really fucking obvious right now who's from places like HP, and who's never seen a place like HP.

I mean the overwhelming majority of city dwellers voted Democrat in 2000. It seems that 75% of the people here are pro bush. Do the math. You aren't from anywhere but the suburbs.
