24/7 Mayweather/Mosley Debuts April 10 on HBO

NEW YORK, March 2, 2010 – HBO Sports’ groundbreaking “24/7” reality franchise, which has captured seven Sports Emmy® Awards, will return for its eighth boxing installment with 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY, a four-episode, all-access series, it was announced today by Ross Greenburg, president, HBO Sports. Debuting SATURDAY, APRIL 10 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/7:00-7:30 p.m. PT), the series follows two of boxing’s top performers – Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley – as they prepare for their May 1 welterweight pay-per-view showdown in Las Vegas..

Noted Greenburg, “We can’t wait to get the cameras rolling on Floyd and Shane as they prepare for this big event. We appreciate all the access and cooperation that we get from the boxers and their teams. We know the bar is set high and we are excited to meet the challenge.”

Episodes two and three of 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY debut on subsequent Saturdays – April 17 (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET/6:30-7:00 p.m. PT) and 24 (8:30-9:00 p.m.) – while the finale debuts Friday, April 30 (8:30-9:00 p.m.), just one night before the super showdown. All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.

24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access, along with in-depth interviews, as these fascinating personalities prepare for the first mega-fight of the decade. Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs), originally from Grand Rapids, Mich., is now part of the Las Vegas scene and has attained major celebrity status, while the quieter Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), who hails from Pomona, Cal., is headed for the Boxing Hall of Fame once he put the gloves away. No stranger to the bright lights himself, Mosley twice defeated Oscar de la Hoya.

This fast-paced show will capture the interactions and rigors the two fighters experience in preparing for their contest. Making his first “24/7” appearance, Sugar Shane will be trained by the accomplished Naazim Richardson. This is Mayweather’s fourth time on “24/7,” which previously chronicled his relationship with father Floyd Sr. and uncle and trainer Roger.

24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY is the latest installment of the acclaimed “24/7” franchise that began in 2007 with “De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7” and “Mayweather/Hatton 24/7.” The series continued in 2008 with “Calzaghe/Jones 24/7” and “De La Hoya/Pacquiao 24/7,” and in 2009 with “Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7,” “24/7 Mayweather/Marquez” and “24/7 Pacquiao/Cotto.”

The St. Petersburg Times has proclaimed, “The best sports reality show on television is HBO’s ‘24/7.’ ”

At the 2009 Sports Emmy® Awards, “24/7” was recognized with four Emmys® for production excellence, as well as receiving three Emmys® at the 2008 Sports Emmy® Awards.

On Saturday, May 1 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)/6:00 p.m. (PT), HBO Pay-Per-View® presents “Mayweather vs. Mosley,” live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The executive producers of 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY are Ross Greenburg and Rick Bernstein; senior producer, Dave Harmon; coordinating producer, Scott Boggins; producer, Bentley Weiner; writer, Aaron Cohen. Liev Schreiber narrates.

Considering going out to Vegas for this fight, since I still have my flight credit for canceling what was supposed to be Pac-May in March.

Damnit, I should've hopped on tickets before all the fuckin brokers snatched 'em up.

I doubt this fight lives up to the hype, but I'm juiced anyways.

I'm suprised people still buy into the bullshit.

All that shit that goes on outside of the ring (like PBF's antics/comments) is to sell tickets, thats all it is, all these boxers want is to get paid because their careers can be short and ended at any time, so while they are putting their bodies and brains on the line, they want to make as much money as possible.

Anyway, I see this fight going to Mayweather after he wears down Mosley.
