THIS must be the world's biggest Superman fan — a 35-year-old who has gone under the knife to look just like his childhood hero.
Herbert Chavez began getting cosmetic surgery in 1998 to transform himself into the comic book character.
He has had a chin augmentation and a nose job in a bid to become the mirror image of actor Christopher Reeve.
The Filipino's surgery also included silicone injections into his lips, thigh implants and liposuction on his stomach in an effort to get the Man of Steel's rippling physique.
Herbert has idolised Clark Kent and his superhero alter ego since the day he was given the distinctive blue and red suit as a youngster.
He said: "I have been a life-long fan of Superman after being given the costume when I was a child.
"In 1990 after I started working I could afford to buy the Superman figurines which I have been collecting for over 20 years."
Now his house in Calamba City, in the Philippines, is brimming with the models, as well as life-size statues, clothing, comics and posters of the superhero.
Herbert is now something of a celebrity in his hometown after being crowned "Mr Hero".
And he has made a profession of his new look — becoming a full-time "pageant trainer".
But psychiatrists worry that Herbert could be suffering from body dysmorphic disorder, meaning that he is obsessed with making cosmetic changes to his body.
Still, Herbert has no plans to put an end to his surgery and wants even more in the future.
