Fighter of the Year ESPYs

I don't like either MMA choices. Not that they're not great fighters (okay, GSP is great) but their performances this year do not warrant the honor IMO. Someone mentioned Jose Aldo - I think in terms of MMA this is the fighter of the year. He KO'd the champ (Mike Brown) to win the belt then completely dominated the previous title-holder (Faber). However, my vote goes to Pacquiao. I think what he accomplished this year and the manner in which he carried himself was just outstanding.

but Veach is a can and a lot of people thought BJ won that fight.

Really? What do you think? I thought Edgar won pretty convincingly. The only discrepancy (for me) was that I watched the night show and already knew who won. So really I was looking to see how badly he beat Penn. Perhaps that had somthing to do with the way I saw the fight. But really, I thought it was pretty clear.

I agree with the choice of Jose Aldo. I think that MMA fighters are even mentioned is an accomplishment in itself. Anyways, Pacman is definitely the best choice.

He said it was from June to June. I believe they fought in August of last year which would qualify.

Silva isn't nominated but I can see why one would want him to win. I guess the problem with him though is it's from june to june and in that time period he beat Forrest Griffin & Demian Maia, not exactly top not opposition despite how easily Silva won.

I think its better competition than GSP though.. But I think the Maia fight hurt him.. If he would've killed Maia like Forrest he would've been up there.. At least Forrest is a former champ..
