whos bitchin? we were speaking on history? lol i embrace people from all cultures but i wont act like were all the same and its all good,

people need to start looking around, it aint too good for blacks now and its going to get worse, much worse before it gets better, we were speaking on (FARRAKHAN to OBAMA) the only reason this is even an issue is because they both are black, so we are speaking on a black issue here, i just spoke on something i feel is more important then what farrakhan had to say, if your going to give him the stage then make good use of it , obama has little or no respect so why is he even speaking on him? address real issues for blacks not grand stand and act like your words mean anything to obama,

Italians have Italian culture, Mlk has nothing to do with the history of africans

even suriname blacks have african culture,
But you didn't say African, you said Black. Sammy Sosa is black, and even though his ROOTS are African, he won't sit there and tell you he's African...he will say he's Dominican....and he will celebrate Dominican holidays.

And no, Italian-Americans have Italian-American culture, just like African-Americans have African-American culture, just like Chinese-Americans have Chinese-American culture.

Yes, some are in-tune with where they came from, but they don't live like people do in the old country. We don't celebrate Italian Holidays here (If we did, we'd have about 42 days per year OFF), and we'd have 2 hour "nap breaks" during the work day.

I have yet to see the United States recognize a single Italian Holiday.

I never compared Italy to Africa. I understand what you're saying, and all I'm saying is every country in Europe and every country in Africa have their own cultures and holidays, and we will never celebrate the latter here because this isn't Italy, and this isn't Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zaire, Angola, Chad, or Cameroon...it's the United States...the nation recognizes our own Holidays.

If cats want to have their culture, it is up to them to find out what it is and live it. Plenty of folks can find out where they came from because records were kept...

True, but I have heard of African Americans and Caribbean blacks succesfully integrating in other African countries (Kenya, Liberia, South Africa, and Nigeria) I'm not sure if those countries offer dual citizenship but I wanted to give you an example that shows it's goodwill to it's new world brothers through a government mandate.

It's not about generations or age... You asked me to name ONE Black holiday in the US... I sited Mocheezkc's list & added Kwanzaa... If you can't see the incredibly RICH cultural legacy Black folks have created in the US... You must live in Canada...

Fam, generation and age have a lot to do with it. Go ask a black kid who Jim Jones is and see what they tell you. Ask someone under the age of 25 who Emmett Till is and see if they tell you. Blacks have contributed to this RICH cultural legacy, but you have people denying this fact and it contributes to the problem and leads to people feeling ostracized.

Shit I hope the power doesn't go out again.

Give me the gist of it, but I'm really interested in why you take this stance Heresy. I think blacks would benefit if the at least the black diaspora and Africa could link up. Even though there is prejudice and so on, and some separation of the ethnicities the majority of blacks tend to link up with each other especially on the east coast. What makes you think Afircans don't care for black Americans at all?

I was talking to my girl about this yesterday, what the fuck happened where (I wanna say niggas) blacks just stop giving a fuck about history? Every culture has some record or care for their history but so many blacks after our parents generation just gave up and said fuck it.

Basically I was pointing out that some of the countries you listed have an infrastructure so they are more willing to accept outsiders. I'm not saying Africans don't care for the blacks that are here, if it came off as that or you think I'm implying that I'm not. What I'm saying is Africans already have enough problems and that outsiders like black americans, trying to assimilate, can contribute to the problem. What I'm also saying is Africans will kill a black american just like they will kill one of their own, maybe even quicker. The same can apply to an African that came here. Let him walk down the wrong street and he may never see his family again. However, the difference betwen an African in this country, and a black american in a country in Africa, goes back to infrastructure and being able to hook up with someone.

Ethiopians in america can hook up with other Ethiopians. They can come here and fit right in. Can a black man do so in Africa? Go straight there, fit right in and have no problems? Nope.

It isn't a different thing. His premise is that culture and history are not being taught or practiced because it is limited or doesn't exist.
Come on, H... You know it's different... Even so... I'm not arguing that... Only that it's here... And very real... Who acknowledges, teaches, practices, or the scope of it isn't what I was alludin' to...

(FinalCall.com) - America is facing a major earthquake as part of God's divine judgment against the country for her evil, warned the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan during a March 31 press conference at the Nation of Islam's flagship Mosque Maryam.

The Minister called the news conference to address U.S. policy in the Middle East and military attacks on Libya. He again condemned U.S. military action against Libya and warned the president about tricks that could lead to his disgrace and ruin.

The bombing of Libya has ended hope in Africa and in the Middle East that President Obama would usher in a different type of U.S. policy and hurt the president's popularity, he said. Satanic advisers have shifted the president away from a moral position and into a dangerous one, he said.

Col. Gadhafi has been hated by America for his revolutionary ideology and stand against imperialistic exploitation of poor nations, the Minister said. While Americans are losing their homes and have no health care, Libyans have been given free health care, free education and free housing, Min. Farrakhan noted. Oil money was also used to build hospitals and a major water project stretching from the Sahara Desert almost to Tunisia, he added. While Libya was the poorest country in the world in the 1950s, it current income is double that of Egypt, saidMin. Farrakhan.

The western image of Col. Gadhafi doesn't fit what I know about him and his history, he continued.

The Libyan leader who has supported the Nation of Islam with loans for purchasing its headquarters and starting the POWER economic program and opened doors to relations with African leaders, is not a mad dog or the ugly person depicted by America, he said.

America has supported dictators around the world and already has CIA agents in Libya according to media reports, said Min. Farrakhan.

America will suffer grave loss and massive death as God's chastisement strikes the country and steadily increases, Min. Farrakhan said.

"My teacher was not only a messenger but a warner to you (Blacks) and America and the nations of the earth. He knew what was coming and put it in Muhammad Speaks and in the minds of his ministers," said Min. Farrakhan.

Mr. Muhammad taught that America would suffer four great judgments from God--the judgments of rain, hail, snow and earthquake, the Minister said.

Elijah Muhammad was a Moses speaking to a modern pharaoh saying let Black people go and I am his Aaron, said Min. Farrakhan. I am a man you will have to deal with and you cannot deal with me as you have ordinary negroes and you won't be able to kill me, he said.

"I love Muammar Qaddafi and I love our president. It grieves me to see my brother president set a policy that would remove this man," Min. Farrakhan said.
