THIS IS ANOTHA ROLAND VERSUS YAMAHA THREAD, SO IF YOU A KORg OR N-E OTHA MANUFACTURER FANATIC,THEN DON'T BOTHER PUTTIN' YOUR 51 CENTS IN, UNLESS YOU WOULD RECOMEND EITHA OF THESE TWO KEYBOARDS.

SO WHICH ONE IS BETTER IN YOUR OPINION? WHICH ONE WOULD YOU gET OVER THE OTHER IF THEY'RE BOTH NEK TO NEK IN PRICE? WHY?

i dont own one, but i was recently considering picking one up so i went to guitar center to mess with it, i probably spent a tottal of 4 hours testing out all the functions, and it was the rack, i only mess with racks, i cant justifiy spending an extra 700-1500 on a set of keys and a function or two that i have on one of my other modules.....but the rack was on point for sure, and i believe that it is based on the older version of the motif, but i think they are putting out a new version of the rack based on the newer models of the motif.

EDJ I gave a review of the motif es in this forum. Use the search engine and see if it is still availiable. I also gave insight on the fantom and you can find that info in a thread started by raginhomosexual. The motif review thread is "MOTIF ES REVIEW FROM A NEW OWNER" and the fantom thread has my name in it but I cant remember the title. I can't say which is better because they do the same thing yet they do it diffrently. In some cases they don't do the same thing but it all depends on what you're trying to do.

personally from experience, the motif is the SHIT!, the fantom is mostlymade of sounds for house type music(unless that's what your looking for) it's dope but i would go with the motif , due to the fact i own it..and love it..

I dunno aboutt that..I dont own one but I heard plenty of usuable sounds on there when I was messin with it..Then again I dont use the typical rap/hip hop sounds you hear in beats..plus you dont have to use the stock sounds in the keyboard

I love my Motif 6. The ES is on another level tho..Cant go wrong with either aslong as you use them to your full advantage..thats the key

depends on what level your on, if you know how to play then the roland is a better choice, alot of people claim that roland has a flatter sound than korg or yamaha, this may be true because they design it for composers.

Get a Fantom

I got a Motif Rack. It's cool, but I'll trade it for a Fantom x anyday. The guitars are killin the Motif, When you hit a chord it sounds real the way it plays back , The drums on the Motif are cool to me tho. They sound kinda gritty like a sample, not to thin like the triton. I got a triton too. Sorry to say but I do think you get the most for your money with a Triton still. Fantom is tight cuz it's new, Triton just got classic strings and shit tho. Between Motif and Fantom get a fantom .I'll sell you my Motif Rack for cheap , It's mint condition Holla at me. I did Hollow TIps new album , Track 4 on T-mutty's new one. a new cat named Tre Mak and SOme stuff for Big Hollis, tell you the truth I used mostly Mpc2000xl and the Triton . PEace

the motif rack

the motif es is barely different than the rack . The rack came out way later than the original keyboard so it has added sounds in a few banks. The es just has a couple different things not many.

you got it?

Cmon bro, you don't know who you're talkin to. I make tracks for a living. I've had both a Motif8 and I still have the Motif rack. What the fuck is so different. They got almost the exact same soundset you fuck. THe ES has a few more sounds and features nothin over the top. Explain yourself!

check it tho

I don't make a track with just the MOtif alone, I use the MPC4000 for sampling , and sequencing, THe timing is killin the Motif. The navigation setup on a motif is a joke compared to the Triton or Fantom. And , If you think the shit that you just mentioned is worth 1000.00 more dollars than the rack version, than your'e truly a fool. But hey, yall are the big producers. Peace
